20x9 and 20x10.5 Will it fit/work on an S550 4Matic
I did a lot of research and asked a lot around about the 4Matic and running a staggered wheel setup and I have been getting mixed reviews. Some guys are running that for 30K miles with no issues some would never do it. I ran into some wheels I want to pick up and they are 20x9 fronts and 20x10.5 rears. I wil decide on tires once I get the wheels. From what I know the overall diameter has to be within .5 in order no to get codes or errors. I was wondering if these wheels will fit and in some owners that are running wheels on 4 matics will they work out well with the AWD. Any input at all will be great.
Thanks
Kamil
My set up is 22x9 et +29 and 22x10.5 et +42
Tyres 255/30/22 and 295/25/22 continental dws
I used a set of H&R 20mm ( .8") spacers to avoid rubbing (inner)
Issues? I have not experienced any.
My other set is also 22" staggered fitment. This set is custom fit without using spacers.
They are 22x9.5 front ET +24 and rear 22x11.5 et + 20.
Same tyres are recommended as listed above. I lowered mine with factory Star at MB dealership. I hope this help you sir.

IMO 20" is small with our s550 ( yatch on land)

This calculator will let you try various tire size combos (width and sidewall ratio) and tell you the resulting difference in rolling diameter. Stay under 3% and you should be fine.

With 20x10.5, the minimum tyres set up is 275 to 295 recommended.
I don't think 275/35/20 would doable in the front. If you go with 255/30/20 to run stretch set up to fit the front, this skinny set up wouldn't look right in the rear.
20x9 square set up is more of ideally set up. Running 255/35/20 square with possible rear spacers unless you don't mind the rear wheels&tyres sit in a little.
My 07 Lexus gs350 that I had. I ran 20x8.5 square with 245/35/20" for 2 plus year with no issues. Keep us posted please. Ned

I dont know how it looks from the rear but cant find the tire sizes he is running.

So a 275/30 has a sidewall height that is 30% of the width.
30% of 275 is a sidewall height of 82.5 mm
A 285/30 has a sidewall height that's 30% of 285 or 85.5 mm.
Divide the smaller number by the larger number and subtract that from 100 to get the difference. Between a 275/30 and 285/30 there's a 4% difference in the rolling diameter, which would be outside the safe margin.
If you go to that calculator I linked to, you can play around with tread width and sidewall ratios to get the mix under 3%.
Also how do you like the ride quality of the Conti's on your set up is what i was looking into for the last month.
Looks wicked...Please post some more pic angles
