07 s550 with airmatic, question about upper control arm.

I've had my car now about 4 weeks. I want to lower my car just a bit. Enough where it covers the gap front and rear. While inspecting the front driver and passenger side. I noticed where the upper control arm bolt is looks like it's touching my tire. I'm not sure if my car raises while im in the car but it has to so the bold won't be sitting on the tire. Anyone else here have this issue? Does the car raise itself while in gear so it gives the bolt enough clearence? Also I have 22x9 up front and 22x10.5 in rear. I got the smallest tire I could for front and rear. Will lowering my car raise the arm up or is it impossible cause it will touch tire? Sorry for these questions this is all new to me.

Can you take some pictures of the control arm bolt under the car and also a few pictures of how the car sits over your wheels now. So we can get a visual of how far the gap is over the wheels. Thanks.

I would leave it the way it's sitting now. Remember it's a Mercedes not a ricer fart car with the gigantic muffler!!!

i would never put even a exhaust on this car or rice it out. but any car with wheels and a gap should always lower it just a bit. im not talking about slamming the car on the ground.

brand was Verde. forgot name of wheel im sure its on their website.

Maybe its more the size of the wheel. Im thinking your tire wall might be too tall. Theres a fixed distance between the axle and upper bolt that never changes

im pretty much running the smallest tire for my 22's. 255/30/22. i really dont wanna put a 25 up front i think that would be to small. have you heard of anyone just shaving down the upper bolt.

It can be done but risky business. You have to be careful not to ruin the threads and would also have to chase them to make sure the nut would go back on. Also the bolt might start to rust prematurely at the exposed end.

were these hubcentric? did you add spacers or anything?

the wheels were made for the car. i didnt use spacers or anything.
