PART NUMBER HELP!!

Here are a couple VIN to an 2008 S63 AMG:

WDDNG77X68A206965
WDDNG77X38A197626

I have a 2008 S550 4Matic w/ AMG body kit. It has dual exhaust. I want to purchase quad exhaust tips (NOT full exhaust system) and through my research I will also need the wider cut rear diffuser to fit the quad tips.

If anyone knows the EXACT part number for each of these items please let me know. I called and asked the dealer. Gave them the VINs to look up the parts and he said he couldn't find it in his computer system, he would have to ask around and call me back.

Someone please help. Give me a part number or someone who might even have the parts for sale themselves. I do want the tips with the AMG logo though. The tips currently on my vehicle have the AMG logo and I want to keep it that way.

The problem with this is that the tips can not be bought separatly. They are attached to the rear muffler and they are super expensive. I would just buy the diff from ebay and also some aftermarket tips with AMG logo on them. If not I can get you the numbers for the original parts.

Thanks Chris. Helps out a lot. I may just have to go with that aftermarket idea. I have no reason to change out the whole muffler system. this is just a switch for a look i like. performance is fine the way it is.

This may apply only to the 2010+, but I ran into an unexpected problem when I changed out the stock lower bumper panel (diffuser) from basic AMG to the S63 style to accommodate quad tips. (I actually did a quad aftermarket exhaust as well but same process).

The stock S550 bumper has a built in retainer system. That retainer has two slotted "receivers" on the bottom edge that the lower panel's bottom edge snaps into. While the S63 piece snaps perfectly into the S550 bumper along the top, the S63 piece hangs quite a bit lower than stock, and the tabs don't come close to lining up. I had to jerry-rig my own lower retainer to secure the bottom.

Also, the S550's exhaust tips are a party of the bumper, not a part of the tailpipe. The tailpipe just floats within the tip. In order to fit the wider quad tips, we had to cut out the existing retainer bracket for the stock tips.

The finished result looks phenomenal and I love it but there were some unexpected compatibility problems. I got my S63 OEM bumper parts from Rock Auto:

Lower diffuser panel:
From www.rockauto.com Their Part# MB1115101 $109.79

Body colored center piece (comes black, needs to be painted):

From www.rockauto.com Their Part# MB1180101 $101.79

I have a set of square style aftermarket quad tips new in the box sitting in the garage. I had them on hand in case I decided I didn't like the sound of the aftermarket exhaust and needed to go back to stock, but I never even opened the box. PM me if you're interested.

I have a set of these aftermarket tips. No AMG stamp but brand new in the unopened box. Actually I should probably open the box to make sure that's what they sent me....

I paid $330. Yours (or anyone interested) for $230 shipped

Ok. Well Damn. I'm just about to leave it as it is. This is too confusing. And we dont have to many of those high end custom shops around my way. I'm too scared someone will screw up my car. I really want that quad look though.

True. The pain is worth it:

Becker axle-back exhaust, and the OEM lower bumper panel and center piece. And two little Bungie cords you can't see securing the bottom edge.

Oh, because you said "In your picture you have..."

I am pretty clueless when it comes to mods but I knew I could figure THAT out.
