2007 S600 parking assist inoperative
Just recently starting getting a message on display saying "park assist inoperative". When I hit "ok" it disappears and drive ability hasn't been affected. Anyone know any possible fixes or causes?

No fixes. It's normal outside interference causing the message and nothing you can do to stop it. Happens all the time when I'm at a complete stop in traffic. Dealer says learn to live with it.

Happens me alot near certain stop lights and radar devices. I've even had it pop when a cop used a speed gun on me, that was interesting. Either way, it goes away later. Sorry to hear of your issues with LLT. I was about to pull me Ecu and Tcu this week, but I'm thinking I'll pass. I would recommend you submit a claim through paypal.

I've spent $3,500 trying to fix this. It happens out of nowhere and sometimes continues for no reason. Swapped sensors and the ECU, no joy. I'm glad I'm not the only one this happens to but it's sucks nobody can find a fix...?

Other cars with the backup sensors and trunk opening sensors like on fords seem to cause it on my car. Mainly when Im stopped at a light

Was told by a tech that it's caused by someone/something using radar.

Read the forum posts. It happens to ALL 2007 S600s, mine included. Blind spot and/or parking radars on many other cars will cause it, and so far there is no fix. There's not likely to be one, I'm afraid. I just try to remember to disable Park Assist using the dash button when I'm driving, and only turn it on when I want it on (which is very rarely).

Unfortunately this is a consequence of having distronic plus in the preface lift cars because they delegated the short range radars as parking sensors too.
The facelift models seen to reinclude the ultrasonic sensors for parking sensor duty so wouldn't have this issue.
