Oh No! Car is broken! Coil Packs! Yippie!

Well, this morning I got a CEL. Scanned and misfires on 1,2,3,4, something so I took it straight to the dealer. I went to the parts dept to verify price before they told me what it was ecause I already knew really. coil packs....1400.00 per side (not including labor lol). They called the warranty company and they are covered, 0.00 deductible. Yay!

Changing plugs while they are in there, might as well.

Meanwhile, I have a black/black 2015 C300. I actually like this car for a daily driver. I am trying to talk my wife in to getting it.

Looks nicer than the E350 4matic that I've been driving for the last 2 weeks.

Yea, it's has the black matte woodgrain...the woodgrain is different, like actually feeling the bark on a tree...it's nice.

It had a vacuum leak which was repaired....plus the ABC pump was noisy (I didn't notice it) and was replaced for the second time at 29.9k miles (first time was at 16k miles for the original owner). While they were running it through the car wash at the dealer, some jackass driving his Caddy through the carwash hit the gas and rear ended my car while it was still going through on the track. Then the jackass wouldn't admit fault with 3 witnesses. (I wasn't there...a service employee was running my car through it). It's been a he said/he said thing with the guy who hit my car and the carwash employees and it still hasn't been resolved through his insurance company. But it sounds like his insurance company is going to send an adjustor out in the next couple of days and it will finally be repaired. New painted rear bumper cover should hopefully be repaired next week.

Holy crap. Well, if he hit you from behind, how could it not be his fault? In MD if someone hits you, they are automatically at fault....just how the law goes here.

Hopefully you get it resolved soon.

It happened on private property, so it had to go through the entire inquiry process with a police report and witness statements. A total PITA!

Before repairs are authorized on my car, I'm thinking of finding out the estimate amount....and if it's enough to cover the S63 kit from Gary, paint, and full install, I may just go that route.

Oh it will probably be....when I got that tiny scratch on my S550 that you could'nt even see, the adjuster from the guys insurance wrote the estimate for a brand new bumper. It was like 1400.00 for bumper, paint and install.

If that's all it ends up being, then I'll likely just have them do the repairs. Paint and install of the kit was around $1800 IIRC. Plus there's the cost of the kit on top of that.

Hopefully my wife won't notice that my office is becoming a parts center.

Seeing all of that stuff you have hanging on the wall, I'm not a bit surprised that your car is loaded with badges.

I guess I must have missed that. Perhaps it was the V12 badge sticking out like a sore thumb on the trunk that distracted me.

Damn that sucks.

I hate the screen in those new Mercedes. Looks like they took an IPad and mounted it on the dash. Its a real eye sore if you ask me. Doesn't flow with the interior anymore.

I have a feeling the MB was going for a two-prong approach with that tack on screen:

1. It allows more space for other things on the center stack.
2. It makes the car look more modern with an I-pad/Google pad lookalike, which might appeal to the younger execs who can afford a C-class.

I don't care for it either, but perhaps that's the old man in me talking.

I like the W221....it looks more stately and well built. The sales people came outside when I pulled up and said wow, we rarely ever see the S600's come in here just the 550's and of course they assumed my car was only a few years old as I had to tell them yup, 8 years old and still ticking, they couldn't believe it.

Make sure the dealer puts the updated coils. Otherwise you will be redoing them again in couple years

Not sure as they are doing it while doing the rest of the warranty work and including it in it.
