Decent deal on 2 year CPO extension?
Last week I purchased a 2013 S550 4matic with only 8,000 miles. It has one year of factory warranty left plus one year of unlimited mileage CPO.
I'd like to add two years of CPO extension and I was quoted $3,850. Is that a decent deal?

So I'm guessing you'd be covered through at least late 2019?
You might also want to consider calling around to some credit unions in your area to see if they sell coverage. With those low miles, my credit union would likely sell you 7 years and at least an additional 75k miles of exclusionary coverage (from date of policy) for around $2k....and they are every bit as good as CPO.

No, check out the warranty thread. I paid 3400 for a 3 year 75K MB extended warranty last year on my 2012 that was still under the factory warranty. With 8000 miles over 3 years the car probably sat for very long periods of time which is actually pretty bad for a car with tons of rubber seals and pipes. I would go over all seals and rubber items with a good quality conditioner. The battery may also need some attention as batteries typically do not like to sit either. Congrats and enjoy the car.

I hate how retards come in that rubber seals are going to go bad on a 5 yr old car. If it was 20 yrs old and hadnt moved maybe. Your fine. My local benz dealer quoted me 5700 for the benz 2 yr extension to cpo. I got it out of state for 3750 I think. If you can get a better warty for longer period of time. It wouldnt hurt either. Try daves credit union.

If your going to call me a retard at least learn basic math and spelling retard. Its a 3 year old car and its warranty not warty. There are seals, particularly around the pano roof that will dry out and start to leak in that period of time if not lubed for example. I know the D service includes this for that very reason.

Didnt mean to direct that at you, but in every low mile car thread we get the tards! that site the engine is going to leak from dry seals. Ive collected cars and let cars sit for years rarely with this being an issue. Let alone on a modern car. Now if its sitting out in the sun for 5-10 years i agree your pana roof seals will be shot.... That said my pano roof seems pretty slow. May need to bring it in.

Hi,
The MB dealership quoted $5,000 CDN for 2 years of extended warranty on my 2012 CPO S350. Still looking for a better deal... Do you think the credit union would take a CPO with 30K miles? In Toronto...

CPO doesn't matter. Age and miles do matter. With your low miles, i imagine you can find some long term exclusionary coverage for a very reasonable price. But I have no idea what is offered in Canada.

Jeff Jackson at Tafel Motors in Louisville, Ky also sells the warranty for $3550. Don't understand why dealers won't match the price instead of losing the sale, but some won't.

Car salesman typically work at a lot of different dealers, but you find many MB salesman with over 30 years on the job. I know one at Carousel Motors in Iowa, one at Star Motors in Houston, and several CA dealerships. Look like most MB dealers have at least one.

A friendly reminder this price is valid within the 30 days of buying the car. I waited until the end and i ended up paying 15% MB surcharge. My Total was $4052 from the Austin MB, Bret Was great.
