I have an 07 S550... And I'm trying to stream audio from my iPhone 7... I've looked far and wide for an aux input and an aux/Bluetooth/etc option under audio on the command. I'm finding nothing, so it's safe to assume I do not have the multimedia interface? Yes? I have two slots in my glove box but nothing in them... When I google MM interface, all that comes up is the cord to the iPod from whatever is supposed to be in my glovebox
I'm on eBay, YouTube, google, everything and I get mixed answers.. either I need to purchase the video interface or the iPod integration.. but I'm not sure if either will work without the other or if there's anyway to bipass either and work off one? I'm not trying to spend 600$-1200$ on playing my stupid phone. I'd rather dump the time into making CDs like 2007. Ugh if there's somewhere else I can be directed or an answer or whatever.... PLEASE & THANK YOU!

Does a drop down list pop up when you highlight audio and hit the select button? I had some learning issues when I first got mine. Once you connect your phone the first time it will automatically connect every time it's in the car so you really only have to worry about it once.

On my '13, I needed the ipod dongle for the glovebox and then a Tune2Air connected to that. The Tune2Air handles the streaming from the phone through the ipod interface in the car.

None of the W221 have BT audio support. The 10-13 got an iPod 30 pin interface in the glovebox that you can connect the Tune2Air adapter to and get streaming BT audio and COMAND integration and control.
07-09 is a challenge. There was a dealer installed IPod integration module but it's no longer available from MB. Other than hunting down one of those, there are no great solutions. If your library is local the PCMCIA slot and SD card is the way to go. Or burn a bunch of MP3 files onto DVD and load up the changer.

He wants BT audio from the phone. The connection available in the car is BT telephone only.Originally Posted by jeffabetes

I have Bluetooth audio in my car. Plays my iTunes without using an aux cable. Played some songs from YouTube just yesterday. I assumed all the COMAND operating systems were the same.
Sorry I didn't realize I was receiving replies here. Thank you for your suggestions, all. I found an iPod integration kit on eBay and the seller verified it works and in good condition. So I'm waiting for that to arrive. I had a hard time finding the wiring harness from the head unit to the iPod kit. But Is this something I can go about installing myself or I will need the dealer to activate anything??? I saw a thread on here somewhere, someone went about doing it themselves and I can't find where it went.

Are they going to charge me for that? Or it's just a matter of going in and having it done? Sorry new to mercedes

All COMANDs in the 221 are the same, and none got BT audio from the factory. If you have it, somebody at some point added it aftermarket. It would be good to know who made it since a lot of owners want to add it.Originally Posted by jeffabetes

EDIT: Never mind. I didn't realize you don't have an S Class. Yes, the version of COMAND in your C300 supports BT audio. Every S since 2014 has it as well, as does the new E.

You will likely be charged whatever their 1 hour rate is, even if it takes them 15 minutes to make the change.Originally Posted by fuoram
