The button for raising or lowering the suspension is on top, then the "ESP off" button right below it. When you turn it off there will be a triangle with an exclamation point showing on your dash to show that it is off. If you don't see those, then you're probably not driving a W221 S600.

The button below raising suspension is for ABC.
As I mentioned, I can turn off ESP but that doesn't turn off traction control. How do I turn off traction control?

Hmmm....yours is different than mine was. Mine had 4 buttons, plus the ability to move the COMAND screen left or right. On mine, turning off ESP also disabled traction control. Perhaps MB added more nannies with the face lift if you cannot get your car sideways by turning off ESP.

True, mine is a 2006 S500 UK model and comes with the 4 buttons you described. Turning Off ESP makes the Tail WILD.....
