The small starter battery is in the back of the engine bay on the passenger side. You can't miss it. The large accessory battery is behind the rear seat on the passenger side. You get to it by removing the vertical panel in the trunk, which first requires that you unscrew the tie-down hooks on the bottom and remove the lower panel. You should then be able to get your fingers under that vertical panel and pull it toward you from the bottom. You can buy any AGM H8 battery to replace it and save yourself at least $200. If you go to a place like Auto Zone or Walmart, they'll likely do the labor for free.

I have a 2010 S63 and the aux battery isn't there in the dash. I pulled the fuse panel on the drivers side -left- and couldn't see anything but empty space. I've also pulled all the carpeted panels out of the boot and the aux battery isn't there either.
Are there any other possible locations? I've already purchased the battery so I know what it looks like.
Thanks for any hep.

In MY 2010 E550 the battery is also in the driver end of the dash and access is only from below the same way.

I couldn't see the battery when I looked in the side dash opening. I'd like to be able to see it before I remove the bottom of the dash. Looks intimidating. Thanks for the help. I'm ready to try again.

Removing the panel is very easy.
