Does anybody know how to set the volume level to 100? It defaults to 40 everytime the unit reboots.
And who knows how to get the speed to be displayed in the NTG screen? It always shows 0 km/h.

@aximus , it is some common problem on many units - mine used to do that on 2.7.4 software every now and then. I reverted back to 2.3.6 and installed KWS Toolkit that has option to maximize volume at every reboot. Speed is picked up from CAN, so I'm guessing either your MCU is configured to a wrong type of car or simply does not have this function implemented.

You could also use tasker to the same effect if you want a more custom solution. Go ahead and get a USB DAC as well. The difference in sound quality is night and day.

If that is connected, you need to check factory settings and select the right parameters.

Hi guys!
Just have ordered Android 10 with 1920 resolution on Alibaba. And now preparing to install after recieving.
So please help me with scheme of the USB DAC connection to HU and AUX? Does the HU has usb sound output which I connect to Usb "In"?
If yes, then the USB DAC output connects by jack 3.5 to AUX ?
And what USB DAC should i buy, please give some models/ referencies?
Thanks in advance

2. Is the problem of auto switching to AUX when switching from the OEM to Android solved?

1. What is the supplied jack 3.5 used for? If for connection AUX OUT --> AUX IN, how/when does the USB digital audio output work? Or does USB only work with certain applications and AUX with something else?

2. The auto switching annoys me too. Using a DAC will not solve this.
One thing to bear in mind: The volume is reset every time the head unit starts. Make sure you increase the volume to 100% (it's in the Android settings). There are apps that can automate this (read a couple posts back).

1. I don't use the supplied 3.5 jack. Instead, I routed the USB cable (female, coming from the head unit) to my glove compartment. Plugged in the DAC, connected DAC to AUX in of the car (with a very short stereo RCA cable). The headunit will automatically route all audio to the DAC, you don't have to configure anything (well, I didn't).

Maybe directly to the Media Interface USB IN without any RCA? (In my OEM menu AUX and Media Int. are separate things)
I could be wrong, but somewhere I heard that AUX IN has a worse sound quality than by Media Interface cable.
Any thoughts on this?

Anyone could help me localize position where this pin came out from ?
After work on front SAM this cable came out from the plug and i can not find position where it should be . Front video display is off now , so i guess is the reason . Cable is single pin with 3 cables come together after 10cm distance from the plug . Color red with white line . Thanks

Hi guys. I'm considering getting this android unit for my new old w221 https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005002361570372.html
A few questions...
1) How do you guys update your unit? Is there some ROM website or project somewhere that updates this?
2) I've had an Android unit for an old Audi, and the audio quality was complete rubbish! Do you guys get any engine humming noise or interference at all using a DAC via USB?
3) What's the best way to wire the 7-way Harman Kardon amp? Does the stock Harman Kardon pro system comes with any kind of DSP interface, or input is via RCA cables directly?
Thank you!

1/ - this post was always the most up to date with recent OS releases: https://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1699764 (it's BMW, I know, but it's the same platform that differs only by config.xml that is pre-installed in the boot partition)
2/ nope... that's no longer the case. With modern ones (snapdragon 625, Android 10) the audio output quality is good - no need to play with external DACs (unless you somehow get the "fake" Android 10 one with outdated hardware - everything in the above bimmer post).
3/ Analog Aux In (or RCA if you have). Until now nobody came up with digital aux mode...

While the audio quality without a USB DAC is not bad, having one dramatically improves quality. If you’re not into music you probably won’t care installing one.
Otherwise the unit works quite well, if you get a well built one. I’ve had 2 of them so far (the older 8 and now Android 10) and had no issues with either one.
The only issue we had was the initial wiring issue which was solved in this thread. They also updated the harness for the Android 10 version, eliminating the problem.

New install in 2010 s500 ntg 3.5
I also bought the now android 10 unit for my 2010 s500. It seems the NTG 3.5 in the car is somewhat different.
There are far more and different farka plugs!
Ths double connector has 2x one pin.
Then are two connectors with a 4 pin layout. A gray-ish - lightblue one, and a pink one.
These all connect to the cd player unit.
Then there is de one that connected to the old screen: a light blue one. Also with 4 pins.
Needless to say, the gps signal splitter mentioned somewhere else in this thread does not work. I have not yet found a site that sells 4-pins splitters.
I have not yet found out what signal each farka plug is for. So help of someone who knows is welcome.
As to guesses: According to some sites:
Heather Violet (pink) as well as signal blue are: GPS telematics and navigation.
That could make sense as audio level increases with speed. So both the screen and the cd unit could use this signal
Blue Gray is Remote Keyless Entry
(and why would that connect to the cd unit?)
Water blue is Neutral (fits all).
What would the double pin be for?
If possible, I would like to get both the GPS and the phone antenna input on the android unit connected to the original car antenna.
Does anyone knwo where to get a splitter for these 4-pin farka plugs? Do I need them to achieve the use of the mercedes roof antenna?
My second quesiton regards the optical cable. How should i connect the mercedes combined plug to the provided y like setup? How i ask
All your help is greatly appreciated. And like followed by other questions..

@lli can you post a picture of the harness provided with the unit?
It looks like you got yourself a bit too many options there - if your unit has the harman logic 7, then all these optical bypasses are not necessary. Also you will not be using the MOST box if your unit has AUX in. The only thing to be done there is to take out optical wires from the main harness socket and plug it into to the extended one you got...

@amgs63dxb : I have a normal sound unit, not premium. TV, and aux in de glove compartment. And Mercedes rear view camera.
I don't need to keep the TV, the signal is outdated.
Here is a picture of one harness provided. I'll label the other one next.

@amgs63dxb Harnass 2
And a detailed picture of the to cd plugs (of which there are 2, one male, one female) to "split" the one originally going into the cd play posted above.
To take out the optical cables, just pull hard? Always am a bit scared to alter OEM cables...
I think the unlabeld 1 pin goes to the cable previously connected to the raise chassis/sports suspension/pdc off panel.
