W221 ANDROID touchscreen...

Ok, so I have a custom font camera on my w221. When below 5 mph, it comes on automatically. Would this still work with this setup? It's hooked into the command plug, way below the display area, and it uses the same trigger that the reverse cams uses, to do the front cam.

RHD Option
So the showstopper for RHD option is just the fact that the frame is facing the "wrong" way? Could this be 3D scanned and 3D printed flipped?
I guess the other potential problem is the suspension rising and park sensor buttons appearing to the far left instead.

So I got this for my cl63. My car has NTG3 and the OEM iPod interface. I'm having issues getting sound out of the unit. So:
- original comand works as intended.
- the comand knob works with the new unit.
- my unit came with a TV box and an AUX harness. If I connect the TV box still no sound. The AUX harness doesn't fit anywhere.
- the external speaker that comes with the unit produces no sound either. Tried it with music and navigation.
- the iPod interface doesn't work with the android unit connected.
- yes AUX is activated and works fine on comand.
Reading various posts on the forums it seems that the comand does AUX on the original harness on pins 5, 6 and 15 and 16. Do I have to splice the aux harness that came with the unit into these pins or what? So much for plug and play
Any insights or suggestions would be appreciated.

Here's the audio pinout for the AUX of NTG 3 in relation to the stock 3.5mm AUX jack and video cable.
Audio: Pin 6 - transparent, Pin 5 - Brown, Pin 15 - White.
Video: Pin 18 - Black, Pin 8 - Yellow.

So yeah everything works now. If your car doesn't have AUX or you have the iPod interface, you have to use the AUX harness that comes with the unit, cut it, and connect the pins to the back of the comand unit. Good thing the unit comes with no instructions.

The confusion stems from the fact that the unit comes with 0 instructions, not even a harness pinout. Labels on the plugs are partly English and partly Chinese...so that's no help either.. But whatever, it is made in China after all. Here are connection instructions that I keep for myself for future reference. But wait...I should only distribute these to people that bought the unit from me like all the "vendors" here and Chinese suppliers on alibaba haha. I made these from memory after installing the unit so they should be mostly accurate.
Number 4 on the list does not come with the unit and needs to be bought separately.
Hopefully this helps some people and clears up some of the confusion.

Hi Chris,
Thank you for sharing this info. I think I just mailed you today regarding this 10,25 inch display for my W221 S65. I really want it but still a bit concerned if it will fit my car since it is a Japan version with Japan Comand (Still LHD though). You told me yes it will fit. Are you sure about it? I am thinking of the wiring looms, not the actual physical fitting.
Maybe you could tell me a bit how it works. You still keep the original Comand in the car, and access that one through the new screen? What about navi, on my Comand everything is japan maps and japan letters. And the speakers keeps doing audio alerts like "railroad ahead", "left turn ahead"(of course not accurate since the car still thinks it is in some japanese city) etc etc that I seem unable to turn off without turning off the whole Comand system. Will this new device have builtin navi that is used instead of the original one?
And the wiring attachments on the japan navi is different from the Europe version. Will the supplied wires harnesses fit?

Cables should be the same.
Yes.
You use the navi on the new screen. Forget the old.
Sounds VERY strange. That you CAN turn off of course.
Yes. See all videos.
Yes. it will. And I will double check. Keep it on mail.

w221 android screen question
Hello everyone?
I bought & installed 1 of these screens but I don't know how to hook up the AUX harness..... If I splice the the wires into the pins on the back of original command plug, where or what does the other end of the harness plug into?
2. The buttons to raise the car, dim the dash or turn off & on park sensors doesn't work or do anything & I have the orange LIN cable connected to as the instructions say can anyone help please!!!????

Other than that the units great & worth the money, it really updates the car & gives it a newer look & feel... I wish it had audio & video outputs though it would make the unit untouchable even though it kinda already is!!

Wow, just stumbled onto this thread and am super-impressed.
I watched all videos, just a few questions for clarification:
a) the unit runs Android but uses the data connection from my cell phone if I want to do Google maps or Spotify etc. (y/n)
b) can I control the existing Sirius/XM radio from within the Android unit or do I have to switch back to the old Command? (y/n)
c) bonus question: if that's the case, can I still listen to Sirius/XM when I switch back to the new interface?
d) it seems to me the only "iPhone support" is to connect via the WiFi connection and then it basically just does screen mirroring (y/n)
e) Chris, you mention somewhere in the thread that you have a CarPlay dongle, but I see no other mention of it also I see no video which shows CarPlay. Is there full CarPlay support (y/n)
f) looks like the install is pretty straightforward, but where do you put the new GPS antenna?
Thank You
