Just left MB dealer and was told I couldn't pair my Samsung Galaxy s7 to my 2007 S550 phone system. Has anyone heard of this. Tech said MB system is not upgraded to the new phones.

Yes, the 11 year old cars don't still get current software updates for the newer phones.

That is not true. I have a 2008 S550 and its "default" bluetooth adapter paired effortlessly with 2 Android phones: a Moto X and an Essential PH-1 (currently). The PH-1 was released on Oct 2017, so I'd consider it as a new phone.

Do you have a bluetooth adapter? If yes, which make? If MB, does the car see the phone in the list (assuming you properly activate the adapter and phone in the same time)? If yes, do you know the code needed to complete the pairing?

This is the MB bluetooth default adapter

I don't think he has the bluetooth adapter but is probably attempting to pair with the command system. I've used an LG V20 in a 2004 S430 so it can't be that the software needs to be updated.

Yes, to all of your questions. I have the adapter shown above and I have the 5-number code, which is under the adapter. Maybe just doing something simple wrong...thanks!

Sorry, not meaning to hi-jack your thread, but you mention the 5-number code is under the adapter? I have this adapter as well, but it seems that it is pretty solid inside the console. How do I remove it to see the bottom/under the adapter? Just a good strong tuck/jank? I do not want to break anything.

Sorry, I am still a bit of a rookie here as I just got my S550 4 days ago.

Thanks for the help.

These are the steps to follow:

Step 1: Enter the vehicle in the driver’s position. Vehicle must be parked outside in a safe place
with the engine running. Be sure you have your approved wireless phone and your wireless
phone owner’s manual. You can not be speaking on the phone you are trying to pair.

Step 2: The Bluetooth Interface Module should be attached to the connector, located in the
center armrest.

Step 3: Locate the text “Bluetooth” towards the rear of the Bluetooth Interface Module. Push
down on this section of the module for 3 seconds. A blue lamp on the module will begin to blink.

Step 4: Pick up your wireless phone and set up your phone to pair to a Bluetooth device as per
your wireless phone owner’s manual. During this process your phone will ask you for a code, use
62872
.

Attention 2007-2009 S-Class and CL-Class customers! 2 Bluetooth devices will appear as
found on your wireless phone. Be sure to select MB Phone System.

P.S. Make sure your phone's BT is enabled.

The silver part is the part that slides off and the 5 number code is under there....62872 seems to be the number everyone talks about.
