Question Changing Unit Settings from Fahrenheit to Celsius in Cluster

Hi everyone,

Does anyone know how to change the Unit Settings from Fahrenheit (F) to Celsius (C) in the Instrument Cluster?
Yes, I am able to switch from 0–160 MPH to 0–260 km/h on the Speedometer Dial. But I can't find a way, an option or a setting to allow me to change F to C.
I grew up on the metric system. We use Celsius up here in Canada.

Yes, I tried the “OK” button and the “Right arrow” pressing together for 5 seconds on the steering wheel. NO luck.Yes, I did my extensive search on the Internet. The only information relevant to my question was a 7-second (!) video clip on YouTube NOT telling or showing how this person did it.

Please do not send me to the Stealers. I refuse to pay 199.99 CAD plus 13% tax.

So, if there is anyone out there who could share this knowledge with us in this W221 group then it would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

Pitek

Did you try through the command system under vehicle settings, instead of through the steering wheel controls?

Hi presidentvip,

I had it finally and permanently resolved and corrected using a scanner purchased in Poland.
The programmers added the feature in their scanning software to make it easy to toggle between Fahrenheit (F) and Celsius (C) degrees, and vice versa.

Again, this change is not possible through any of the car settings (e.g. Comand).

Thank you,
Pitek

Hi LAsunset,

I have all of the information you need about this great Polish company (name, address, direct phone number and certainly the website).
However, PM me and I will share the info about it with you.
I do not want to do it publicly here and be kicked out of this fantastic and resourceful forum for advertising...

Unless, the admin advises me differently.

Thank you,
Pitek

Hi Minh,

I do not have the Xentry/DAS. So, I do not know the answer to your first question.

I know that you can change kmph to mph and from mph to kmph through the instrument cluster control system.

You are also able to switch additional speedometer on or off.

I hope it helps.

Thanks for prompt feedback.

Change kmph to mph on Instrucment Cluster settings is fine for me however I couldn't find any menu setting to change addition speedometer to kmph, If turn it on then it always in mph therefore i wonder whether we can change addition speedometer to kmph?

Perhaps I will try with Das/Xentry and will give an update later.

early cars pre 2007 don't get the menu in the cluster to toggle between MPH and KPH in main speedo. There is an update, it still doesn't bring this menu. In fact you have to update multiple other modules before the early cars even let you apply the speedo update (front SAM I think), total madness when you can change everything odo and speedo with dealer tools by ticking one box.

As written above you can turn on or off the aux speedo display. However on all euro spec cars the aux digital speedo (bottom left of main dial) will always toggle the opposite of the main speedo's units. Its so you can drive in Canada or I can drive in France … legal requirement for any euro car in its home (European) market

As I said above, you can "switch additional speedometer on or off."
There is also one more option. If you have km/h on a big speedometer dial then your additional speedometer (small on the left side) shows mph. If you switch the big speedometer dial to mph then the additional (small on the left side) will automatically switch to the opposite - km/h.
That's it. There is nothing else you can do.
