Hello Forum,
Wanted to get your thoughts on 2007 S550 vs 2010 S550? If you had to choose, which one and why? Trying to make a decision.
Thanks,

These are the things I look for prior to making a decision. The year does not matter that much to me, the 2010 I believe has the facelift.
I am happy with my 2007, as it had an extensive service history and I purchased it for the right price.
If the cars are comparable, I would choose the newer model if price was not an issue.

Guess NONE of you care about miles, service history, overall condition of the car and price? You all go straight for the 2010 without even considering anything I mentioned earlier?

that comes into play, but why bother looking for a 07 when the facelifted ones look so much newer. Theres no shortgage of used s classes for sale.

One simple reason ... the 2007 and 2008 models were built before the recession. I've owned Mercedes/Pianos/stuff for a long time now, currently on my 15th Benz. Those built during good times always seem to be built better, could be just a coincidence. Also I remember reading here somewhere about the electronic steering issues in the 2010+ cars causing wander/wobble/vibration. None of it would cause me not to want one, but I am the warranty.

2010 has a better built engine (timing gear doesn’t disintegrate) facelift which is highly desirable, and lots of other tweaks made for better reliability. (I think it has a slightly different transmission.)
