S600 Complete Interior Swap 2007 to 2010

Hey all, I figured I would share this experience with you all and maybe along the way I can help you or you can help me. What I'm attempting is a (semi) complete interior swap from a 2010 S600 interior into a 2007 S600. The colors are actually the same but the "facelifted" interior from the 2010 is much nicer and in better condition (with half as many miles on it) than the 2007. Right now I've got the car all torn apart and slowly starting to put the new interior in but the thing that is slowing me down is trying to install the TV rear entertainment system into the car. The wiring is somewhat difficult and I'm working on figuring it out, anyone have a wiring diagram? So far some of things things I've done is swapped all the speakers out, looks like they changed the cones in the 2010 model on the front doors. I also believe I figured out why my Night View Assist wasn't working, found a very bent cord up near the camera, hopefully the new cord I replaced will fix that issue. I'll attach some pics below, enjoy.

One tip I have for people with older S Classes is if you're having issues with the doors being loose and not holding in place when you open them you should really pull off the door panel and check to see if your older bushings on the door strut has crumbled away like mine did. They leave a mess in the door (could cause issues with electronics in there) and and that is why the doors are loose and don't stay in place. I'm not sure exactly what year this changed but the 2010 has different rubber bushings thus eliminating this issue.

Thank God for power tools, right?

That is quite an undertaking!

One question - since you have removed the headliner and exposed the panoramic roof, you should be able to see one section I have a question about-

The moving panel of the pano glass has two guides in the rear that slide along some rails. The glass it attached to a bracket on each side with two Torx bolts, and the guide is slid into the rail. A friend told me it was possible () if the pano glass was all the way back, that if one unbolted the glass from the guide, the guides could slide out of the rail they are normally in if slid toward the rear of the car. Apparently the rails do not have a cap on the end of the them so the guide the glass is mounted to could slide out of the rail. He asked if there would be any way you could post a photo of the what the back of those rails look like, to see if the guide can be placed back into the rail, because as of right now, it could almost be removed from the top of tilted the correct way, and can drop much lower than it should be able to.

My friend would like to not drop the entire headliner if possible

Thanks for your informative post and look forward to seeing the progress and the final outcome of it.

This is interesting. Can you post a pic of what you are talking about?

Heh, don't have pics (just chiming in) I had a door module replaced (basically the switches) and the SA said "the bushing is about to be shot, since "we are in there" good idea to replace it. One of those moments where I'm thinking I'm getting taken for a ride. But I said ok. Can't remember the amount and always felt "screwed" but after reading all this I feel better about saying what the hell get it done. lol

Yeah so I realized I did post a pic about what I was talking about. The last pic with the part circled in red is the bushing for the strut and the graham-cracker looking dust is the disintegrated bushing. I know the struts from MB are gonna be expensive but if you can find some aftermarket ones I'd replace them all because they're most likely all about falling apart. Ironically my driver door was the least damaged so maybe it has more to do with them just sitting and the door not being opened as frequently.

Can you please pull a part # off that as long as you're in there?

So I tried to find the part number but they're already in there and I can see one. I did get a pic of the new bushing though, that one won't crumble. Also I got the new upgraded door panels installed today and I'm trying to start figuring out this rear seat entertainment system wiring. Also I snapped a couple pics of the sunroof that Polar Bear was looking for although you can't see much from underneath.
