Bought car drove home wont go into gear

Bought car drove home wont go into gear
bought a 2007 s550 today. Left the dealership which was 120 miles away, stopped at the gas station, drove 119 miles home. parked it ate dinner, started the car backes out of the driveway half way down the hill i noticed it was reving. won't shift into gear. wont go into reverse . it will say its in reverse or drive in drive it may go 20 feet then rev. i want to shoot myself in the head. please say i just need to let the computer reset or something.

it has 133k miles on it, according to the carfax it was only serviced at mercedes dealers the last one being in feb 2021. if you lock the car and let everything turn off and then unlock the car and then jump in turn the ignition and throw it into drive immediately it will drive about 100 ft. but then it's like some error code comes up and it throws it back into neutral. now the check engine light is on as well I have a cheap code scanner I'll run down to the car because it's not at the house and see what kind of code it throws.

well considering georgia is a buyer beware state i think im screwed. Oh trust me, there will be a call. its almost like they rigged it some how. whats the odds of test driving the car, buying the car driving it 117 miles home with a stop for gas and then boom car slips into a neutral gear like state. im so mad. this is how everything's been going my w211 wagon was stolen 3 weeks ago. got a rental audi q5 the panarama sunroof broke they claimed its my fault get settlement from insurance, police find my car but its trashed ( it looks like the police trashed it) my uncle dies from covid, his wife my aunt falls and breaks her hip. meanwhile i drive 2 hours through a hurricane tornado storme to buy a benz im birmingham. as I'm driving there 10 minutes to the dealership they called me to make sure I'm still coming. i walk in the door.. they sold it. so drove 2 hours to atlanta and bought this car. its beautiful drove great on the way home and now this ****

Wow sorry to hear that...these cars are a trip...I bought my 2011 s550 4matic 94,000 miles and only drive it on the weekends and I had to put a starter on it and now my transmission control module has gone out..$900 part...seen alot of horror stories on here with these s550..but if you have a good scanner that reads the w221 that's a start. Next get ready to learn to work on this car yourself to save $1000's unless you got that cash to burn.. Get your transmission serviced soon as you can.. but for now let's remedy this situation.

If this is your only code check both batteries (engine compartment & trunk), and alternator. Battery replacements, search MB part #s 2305410001 (12V/35AH) & current 0019828208 (12V/92AH) or previous 00554110001 (12V/95AH) which should also yield compatible aftermarket.

so the trunk battery is not taking a charge, we took it to autozone and they are trying to charge it so we will see. I should know within am hour. could a dying car battery really cause this?
