W221 Suspension Metal clunking noise
I been having very loud metal clunking suspension noise from front right suspension.
The air strut is new from Aronnt.
I inspected all rubber joint, and they were in good shape, no tears etc.
I also lubricated the sway bar and all rubber joint. But the problem still persist.
Squeezing sound at low speed or braking.
Metal clicking sound right after lock the car.
Running out of way to figure it out. Really hope someone could point out the problem!

I was trying to see if anyone had the same noise and successfully repaired it.
oh. But thanks for the help?
I had similar noises in My mark VIII, twice replaced with Arnott. I dont like their products and would never install it on a MB.
Air bladder anyone can change, the shock part gets more involving and I prefer quality parts. Not sure where Arnott gets the strut part from or how they rebuild them.

if you inspect the ball joints you will have to disconnect one of the lower arms from the hub. You cannot check them for wear as the FORWARD one of the lower arms is probably in good shape and will not let you “wiggle” the hub by hand. I went around this first but then disconnected the rearward arm on the right side and voila, the ball joint was badly worn and dry. Dry joint is what makes the noise when you park and car lowers itself.
After replacing the right side arm I also replaced the left side. Bought both arms fro FCP Euro. Did the job myself.
I guarantee your problem is the rearward load carrying lower control arm ball joint. No question about it.
