Trouble at start - S500 M273

Hello,

I have trouble starting my car. When the engine start not problem. Idle is perfect and I can drive hundreds of KM (700km) without any problem. But when I stop the engine sometimes it's impossible to restart. I have to wait 20 minutes and the engine start and works perfectly again.

I use a carsoft 1.0 to get some errors code. First I got a P0336 crankshaft sensor error

Q : is it possible to have crankshaft sensor error even after start the engine works perfectly ?

Finally that error stop to show up

Then I decided to change all sparks and coil : no change

Then the P0410 came.

I discover that the secondary pump was faulty : I change it

The problem still occurs

If anyone have an idea to help please let me know.

Big thanks in advance
Jack

Crank shaft sensors might be a root cause because it might not working properly when engine warm up. this sensor is located in the top rear left of the engine.

Thank you very much for your answer.

Is the sensor used only during the starting phase ?

or/and active after the engine has started ? If so I wonder why I can drive hundreds of KM without any problem

Big big thanks
Jack

Signal from crank shaft sensor is required all time when engine running but when it intermittent failure then it hard for start when engine warm up.

It is definitely the crankshaft position sensor. Typically happens when you drive a while, stop for fuel, fill up, and then it won't restart. It is not expensive.

Hello Everyone,

I change the crank sensor, but the problem still occur. Only at start. I also check every Relay and Fuse.

After starting the engine work very well at idle and drive. No stall no problem at all.

I was thinking of the fuel pump but how can the engine work perfectly after start if the pump is broken.

It's a NIGHTMARE

Thanks anyway
Jack

Probably irrelevant and laughable, but I had a Porsche many years ago with the same problem. It was a fuel check valve that was bad.

Hello Nath_h

At this point nothing can be more ridiculous than this situation :-)

Thank you anyway, I will investigate that as well.

Hello Senecat,

Thank you for your help.

Yes maybe. But again when the car start NO PROBLEM, I can drive with no limit. if the cam shaft are faulty is it possible to drive..

It's already 2 month since the beginning of that problem. Little bit fade up...... I should give up that car :-(

Thank you to every one who helped me

Could be fuel, who knows. Your problem seems to be evolving. Pull codes, check values, start running down the diagnostic and repair flow charts.

Air, fuel, spark.
