I had to order my transmission from Mercedes. Rebuilt unit with torque converter was about $9200. God bless the extended warranty!

722.xxx's are a dime a dozen on ebay. Will have to code TCU with Xentry, however.

Yeah, but those xxx numbers are important and some you can find and some you can’t, but I’ll manage it, I spread the word 😃

And regarding TCU, I know it needs that, in my case I need standalone TCU, probably from Ofgear 😁

Just upgrading my car, OM613, 500+hp is goal, just for myself for daily, not for drags or drifts, I’m not planning on hooning my car, but to have fun from time to time yeah, and to eventually go to some tracks doing lap times and see how it does 😁

To be honest, it would be lot easier and quicker to do things if I was social media person type, but I do it for myself, not for others, although of course I would gladly share the process and be helpful to others, because it is simply amazing how people are kind and are willing to help just for the sake of that passion for cars.

Yeah…I’m broken in half regarding social media, because that sure is helpful, but as you said…toxic and cancer so it is really hard to balance it that way, but yeah, glad for you to be free from that!

It is W210, I just spread the word to the models who had this transmission and preparing myself slowly 😃

Please keep us posted. I am very happy with my new Mercedes transmission but I know I over-paid partly because of the extended warranty. I will be very interested to see how much it ends up costing you against my $9200 bill and the $4200 out of pocket after the warranty payment. If it had not been on my S600, I would have done an ebay transmission. For example, in my Chrysler 300 SRT8; it also has the 5 speed 722.6 (albeit different shift specs). I would buy another NAG-1 on ebay and probably only spend about $2600 including install.

My indie tech frequently reminds me it costs to be in the S600 club. But I still firmly believe there is no finer motorcar in the World than a properly maintained Mercedes.
