How would I upgrade 2007 s550 Brake calipers

I would like to upgrade my rear brake calipers. I am OK with the front ones because they are the larger sized Brembo brakes (Mercedes OEM without insignia) but wouldn't be opposed to upgrading the front and rears. Does anyone know if any of the other Mercedes model brake calipers will fit my car? Maybe the s600 rear brake calipers will fit the s550? I like the look of the larger rear brakes. I was thinking some of the AMG models might fit. I've read thru a few of the threads but most of the information was confusing. I figured it would just be easier to create a new thread. Thanks in advance for any assistance you can provide.

2007 S600, 2007 Chrysler 300 SRT8, 2000 C5 Corvette, and 2017 Mustang GT, and just got a 2023 300C
So the S65 uses larger AMG brake calipers with dual calipers at the front. The S600 uses single Brembo calipers at the front with vented disc rotors. If you are seeking upgraded brake performance, I would swap the pads for Hawk yellow ceramic front and rear (I found them not at Hawk but at Tirerack.com!) and upgrade to Brembo vented rotors. Much improved braking.

I swapped for Hawk Pads and new Brembo vented rotors for my S600 and have been very happy.

I would not go for the S65 dual calipers and rotors due to the expense.

Thanks for responding. I am mainly interested in the style. I have the vented disc rotors on front and rear. Just mainly concerned with rear calipers. I want a larger rear caliper.

The brakes front vs. rear are "balanced" in that when you press the brake pedal, a certain percentage of the brake force goes to the front vs the rear, say 70% : 30%.
If you only upgrade the rear, it might become 65 : 35 and braking hard while cornering may give you oversteer etc.
So the general advice is to upgrade both front and rear.

2012 E350 Cabriolet now SOLD to my son
If it is just the "look" you want, then do what you want... If you actually want the car to stop better, then upgrade the front and rear pads to something that will actually stop the car better.. then you will feel way better about doing something positive to the car and yourself.

The pads are not the issue, which is why I didn't mention them. The front caliper is not the issue because I stated this in my initial post. I simply want a larger rear caliper, which is why I was asking if anyone knew of any other Mercedes models in which the rear caliper will fit my s550. But thanks for your input anyway.

As others have said...."could" throw off the "balance"...but, the reality is the brakes in the front are larger due to physics, nothing more, nothing less. You can put a GIANT rear rotor on the car, assuming it fits within the confines of the wheel and does not have a massively larger pad area...it has the same (percentage) of stopping power due to the transfer of mass/kinetic energy to the contact patches (pad-rotor/tire-road). I mean, seriously, worst case is the rear tires enact an ABS thing - and I doubt that.

I agree, pads have none to do with what you are asking! Below is what you need

Yeah, I came across this thread :-) Since I only want to switch the rear calipers, I am conducting research to see if the an S600 rear calipers will fit my s550. Thanks for your response.

221-423-04-81-64 is the (right) rear caliper on the 550. ($251)

221-423-04-81-64 - is the (right) rear caliper on the 600 ($251)....

So, they are the same calipers....its a popular caliper
