Need help from facelift W221 owners

Hello guys! Really need help from those who own facelift W221. I need to know if DLR and headlights (xenon) are ON when these options are enabled in COMAND:

Exterior lighting switch-off delay
Locator Lighting

It depends on the market, in EU only the DRL ( mirrors, rear park, etc) are on when those options are enabled.

In my 2012 model it is like this:

If I have the DRL's enabled in the cluster menu the DRL's are on, of course, during day light full bright, but then when the head lights come ON at dark (or I manually turn headlights ON) the DRL's go to much dimmed mode. They stay ON, but with much less intensity.

For a US model, the headlights (the housing with the blinker, headlights, high beams, and cornering lights) only come on at night, of course, the turn signals do come on when in use at all times.

If you have the "Daytime Running Lights" in the "On" setting, then the lower LED strips on the bottom right & left will turn on during the day & at night - these are the two small light bars closest to the ground with a chrome housing.

Also, not to be rude, but you can just put the car to the settings you mentioned, and go see what it looks like outside.... lol

I think the OP is asking if the DRLs stay ON together with main lights.

Even in the U.S. some E-class owners have cars that turn DRLs completely OFF when main lights come ON. Mine keeps them ON with main lights in both E and S550 but with much lowered power.

Front of the car looks better in dark with DRLs on but to keep them startling other road users in dark the intensity must be lowered.

The question was not about Daytime Running Lights as you can read in the first message lol. Not about that function in IC.

But anyway when either both Locator Lighting and/or Exterior lighting switch-off delay in COMAND are ON: The headlights are ON (at night). DLR are ON too if enabled in Instrument Cluster menu.

I my case I had no headlights ON in these modes. A minor coding has fixed the issue.

I have a question from another thread: anyone could help understand what these options in retrofit SAM enable/disable in fact. Just a translation from German is not enough. I am trying understand what does it actually mean?

Kurvenlicht Substitution
Kurvenlicht Substitution Nebelscheinwerfer
Retriggerzeit Scheinwerferaufschaltung
Ersatzlichtfunktion aktiv

The first post clearly ask about DRLs and head lights ON when they are enabled….?

google make some spyware that often sorts out the issue - until Merc engineers invent there own magic of unrelated words/combinations of words/abbreviations

Mercs using canbus fun can illuminate other bulbs as a stand in for a failed bulb... (aka substitution) I expect chopping and bodging looms will throw this in a tail spin

Cornering light substitution
Cornering light substitution fog lights (I guess means use fog lights instead)
Re-trigger time of headlight activation (this didn't translate well)
Replacement light function active (enabled)

For these two particular modes in COMAND:

Exterior lighting switch-off delay
Locator Lighting
