'13 AMG with AMG Appearance package. What is the go to for lug bolts? Mine are okay, One is a little worn, should probably get new. OEM or something better out there? Not a fan of the flower style bolts.
My flower socket doesn't fit them completely. Tight fit. I make it work. I thought I got the wrong one at first, but the second was no better. Works well enough to break them and put 110ft-lbs on them though. The one I use;

Mercedes list standard head 17mm wheel bolts as an alternative part to the 'flower' head ones.
Trouble with the flower head ones is that some shops use 17mm sockets on them which, whilst they will get the job done, they don't fit properly and damage the bolt heads... Better to fit the standard bolts and not worry about it although the flower bolts do offer a degree of anti theft protection.
You need to get the correct length though, too long and you'll tear up the parking brake fittings on the rear hubs, so would recommend MB sourced bolts over aftermarket.

My GL (X164) uses same bolts as W221 and C216. I ordered a set of the flower bolts for the GL and consequently have a spare set of hex head bolts that I fit whenever a vehicle is going to tire shop, etc.
The wheel nut wrench for trunk that Mercedes specifies for cars fitted with the flower bolts is a standard 17 mm hex, and therefore that's the correct wrench size although it doesn't mean there won't be damage, especially with impact tools.
I try pretty hard to avoid generic tools and consequently have a German Hazet socket for flower bolts and experience no fit or damage problems using hand tools. In addition I have a nice German Stahlwille torque wrench sourced through the Mercedes parts system, which is unique in that it does not require zeroing and is active in one direction only, meaning same wrench removing and reinstalling bolts. The ratchet head is removable and reinstallable in other direction for those right hand thread applications.
a "Standard Merc Security wheel bolt " measures 17.2 mm when brand new - the idea in part is a std 17mm socket won't fit - only sloppy worn normal sockets go on then beat the stainless trim cover to death

they get beaten up by morons in stupid garages
You're not wrong re the garages... Those bolts all look a bit on the short side though🤔
MBUK want about £5 per bolt🤐 will bite that bullet when I get around to fitting new wheels later this year...
I bought these on Amazon, worked perfectly, very good quality and cheap https://a.co/d/0a0ip4za
Uses regular 17mm socket
I just picked these up as well and I replaced the flattened flower head ones with these. They appear to be OEM quality but only static test testing will prove that.

I have an allergy to Amazon.
I forget where I saw it recently, possibly Vice Grip Garage, but apparently, you can order genuine parts from a reputable seller via Amazon, but Amazon will fulfill your order from central stock rather than with items provided by the seller. So there's a very real chance of receiving any old knock off tat even though the seller you purchased from supplied genuine parts to Amazon.
Not that Amazon would give a flying monkeys if all your lug bolts snapped. Probably just refund you the purchase price and pass the blame back to the seller🤐 And people wonder why the world is so messed up.
Apologies for the rant😳
If I ever go to Hong Kong, unlikely by choice, then I will visit the sellers address so you can see exactly where they came from.
