Designo natural leather example photos
Examples I have:
Designo exclusive:
Armagnac X07 rather rare
Sand X10 rather rare
Pastel Yellow X12 rather rare
Porcelain X27 not that rare
Light Brown X35 very rare
Corteccia X49 not that rare
Examples I'm missing;
Designo exclusive:
Marron X06
Mystic red X13
Granite X23
Mid orion grey X29
Chablis X32
Designo Natural leather:
Black X01
Marron X02
Corteccia X03
Sand X04
So far I have sourced my example photos mainly from US auction sites like Cars&Bids, BaT and MB Market, for some cases I have used autoscout24.com. Some so-called regural interior color combos cannot be found from US sites like pre-facelift only Basalt grey / Black 258 / 858 / 558 / 568 and facelift only Chestnut brown / Black 274 / 874 / 884 / 574 / 574 / 584 / 954 / 964. But the problem with European sites is the fact that they publish the vin very rarely.
Is there any collection with all of the 221 Designo interiors? Any help would be nice.
Thank you in advance!

No, that is just normal beige at the time. In person the only real feel difference is the holes and diamond stitching of Designo.

First one Jaap posted is a "regular" Designo Pastel Yellow this was the first time for me to see a "regular" Designo interior, which looks strange in a cool way. I have many pics of different Designo Exclusive interiors which seem way common.
So what's the difference between "regular" / standard Designo and Designo Exclusiv? Very easy to tell them apart:
On standard Designo most of the trim is black. Only the seats, the driver's armrest cover and armests on the doors have coloured trim. Headliner is black, doors are black (except the armrest) and the whole dash is black.
On Designo exclusiv there is more colour including the seats, armrests, lower dashboard and middle part of the door trim. Headliner is alcantara. Plus there is vertical decorative stiching near the door lever/ seat adjustment buttons.
Both have vertical stiching on the seats plus designo logos.
For the Designo natural leather there are also two steps standard and exclusive and they probably work with the same logic.
In the end of the day theDesigno exclusive is way more common compared to the non-exlcusive trim.

Technically it's now Exclusive Passion Leather as the seats are from an S600L but there's no difference regarding the leather of the seat facings and the car they came from had the same Bassalt/Black trim as mine.
I will take some pictures of it tomorrow and post them.
Not a school project, I'm just a fan of S-class and especially the 221 chassis. I have a small channel, mostly dedicated to POV drives, some reviews here and there. When I started filming, I promised myself not to overthink or overdo but here I am. I love learning new stuff about the car and I really enjoy the process overall.
But yes back in school days I did a school project about S-class generations. 221 was rather new then.

Basalt Gray/Black is surprisingly rare combo. For the facelift models it was replaced by chestnut/black which is also rather rare.
Rear memory seats are also quite rare.
The seat memory is easily retrofitted to any car with electrically adjustable seats as it's just the switch pack.
On this car it had the standard bench from the factory, although the leather was perforated as it had front heated/vented seats from the factory. I added electricity adjustable rear outer seats with massage, heated and ventilated and memory along with rear door window blinds. The seats you see here are S600 so have front dynamic/massage in addition the original factory order and the rear extras.
Sourcing the rear door cards in the correct grey/black for the blinds was a nightmare as rear blinds for SWB cars are rare enough, let alone with the two tone interior. All the parts are genuine and correct for the options, except for some obselete wiring for the rear seat massage ECUs.
