2014 S-class

Not sure what you guys have been smoking, but it surely clouds your judgement. Having driven these as loaners or rental cars in Germany for many years, I found these just as crappy as the W212. Same amount of plastic, just with a different plastic feel...
I agree that the plastic feels different, partially also due to its surface treatment and edgier design, but that's bout it.
There are plenty of nice interiors in current MB's, but you need to spend some money on napa or Designo. Same as in other brands....
Anybody here have any experience with the refrigerator console? I know it's an option that until this gen has been an option for users outside of the US. So is it decent? Or does it use up too much trunk space for what it does.

The actual quality of plastics throughout the 211 feel elegant, refined, well finished and padded and/or soft touch. On the 212 the plastics can get somewhat crude, cheap, "thin", unfinished looking/feeling and quite hard. The W212 interior *material* was a big cost cut from the W211.
On the flip side, the 212 interior feels infinitely more durable compared to the 211's kind of dainty construction and not so great fit with large panel gaps in areas (doors to dash and side windows to door trim you can fit like a big finger in).

Kratos - Did you order plain black (040) or obsidian black (197)? Thanks

However, I hear that Obsidian does hide swirls and scratches better and is easier to maintain.
sam9187, so you were able to change the color even though it's pretty close to production (September 1D, right? Mine got moved up to 1D as well).

We had several plain and obsidian black MB's and I found the metallic paint to be much harder and more resistant to swirls and scratches.
Anybody ever wrapped their car? If you do, you won't have to worry about any wash damage to the paint.

Although.. it could be badly damaged on the other side of the car.. the photo didn't show other angle.
Hopefully it is just a minor fender bender.. probably a mishap while unloading the car from the car carrier truck?
If so, that sucks.....!
What's annoying for me is no pricing.
