With the federal Tax credit of $7500 and my state's tax credit of $2500, there is a chance that this car would be cheaper than the S550...

however, less than 20 miles on electricity is a bit of a letdown.

Is this replacing the S400. I admit to not knowing anything about hybrids so I dont know why this seems to be getting more attention than when the S400 was announced.

^^ because the S400 was a mild hybrid, being it could not run on electricity alone. The small battery always ran in tandem with the gas engine to act as a boost, but also help with mpg. Besides the obvious that the S500 plug in is a plug in hybrid, it is a full hybrid meaning it can run on electricity alone at slow speeds before the engine kicks in. Not to mention it also has more power and better efficiency than the S400

Anyone know if the S500 plug-in hybrid is going to be a 4matic? Or available in a 4matic version (hopefully in MY2015 in the U.S.)?
