Exclusive Trim

Recently placed an order with Crystal Grey/Seashell Grey Nappa Leather and 731 Burl Walnut Wood Trim, adding option 735 Exclusive Trim Package. Per the option list featured on the downloadable brochure, it mentions that Exclustive Trim adds additional wood to doors, front seatbacks, and rear of console; however, when utilizing the website's "Build" feature, additional wood on the seatbacks is referenced only in connection with Designo woods. My sales associate has been unable to verify.

Has anybody taken delivery or seen a car equipped with Exclusive Trim and/or received clarity on what is included if non-Designo trim is selected? Thanks in advance!

If I recall, the extra wood is part of the $950 Exclusive Trim option, independent of Designo (don't know the option number); it is listed on MBUSA build configurator.

Wolfman, yes, I did spec my order with the Exclusive Trim package, just curious as to what is actually included depending on the type of wood selected. I have a feeling non-Designo options will only include additional trim on the doors and console...

There is no trim on the seat backs with the non-designo options, just on the doors and console.

I just took delivery of my S550 with Black Exclusive Nappa Leather. The Exclusive wood package DOES NOT include wood on the back of the front seats.

Wood trim on back of fronts seats only come with the max interior option... i.e. you have to buy every interior option package... Then adding pkg 397 or 398 gives you that final bit of wood, I believe... Exclusive trim only gives you extra wood trim on doors and center console, and metal trim on overhead door handles only...

That's not true. You don't have to buy every package. See my post above. It is part of exclusive trim but only with 2 options - metalized ash and myrtle sunburst.

For me both the designo and the black poplar wood trim are not available due to low quantities.

I just contacted my dealer. She was able to make the change without any delay to the build. I was worried after reading your post.

Thanks guys for this thread. I never would have known this without it and would have ended up puzzled why I didn't have front seat wood.

Forums are awesome!

Myrtle sunburst looks really nice with light interiors. There are many pics floating around with that color combination. You will like but better than burl walnut. I may have gotten black poplar if it had wood on back of front seats.

Thanks to all for the updated information! I'm now debating whether to change my order to include the Metallized Ash wood; however, I'm still partial to the look of Burl Walnut as boring as that may seem...

Kratos-TM, I agree, this forum is a great resource--I'm glad you were able to make the adjustment to your build!

Is that the only difference? That one wood strip for the kids to look at? I did not like the strong pattern in the wood options above the burl walnut.

It sure would be great to get some more close up pictures of the surfaces.

The darker smoother burl walnut does look better "in pictures", but I bet the sunburst is an "in person" kind of flavor to where pictures don't do it justice. I am willing to take the risk on it without seeing it to get the back seat wood. And the way I figure, even if it's not that great when I see it in person, it won't be that bad to where I'll have regrets or anything. It's all just brown wood in the end.......lol.

Tom, I found a website www.dealerrater.com which pulls listings for available cars from dealer websites--many have real photos of the actual cars, not stock images from MBUSA! Seems like black interior is most commonly available at the moment...

Does anyone know what order ordering exclusive leather actually entails?

Is the leather softer than nappa or is it just nappa with cross stitching on seats and dash?

Also, is there a leather upgrade on doors and top of dash?

Does anyone know what rooflining comes with it...dinamica? If so which color for nutbrown exclusive?

Check out the upholstery section in the S63 guide - this does a pretty decent job of explaining the options.

http://www.benzreport.com/s63-amg-4matic-order-guide/

Keep in mind that the diamond pattern stitching does differ from the S63 vs the S550 as it is in the center part of the seat on the S550. Also, the black piano lacquer is an AMG only option. Otherwise, the options here are similar between the normal S and the AMG version.
