New Touchpad - Nice touch
Just saw the new touchpad that will be available on the new S in 2014. along with the heads-up display and it looks great!
Compared to the silly looking Audi touchpad or the "where could I put a touchpad" top of the iDrive knob on the BMW's, this one looks great and its position makes sense for easy access. Reminds me of the Apple Magic Mouse surface...

It seems MB designers have reinterpreted how a touchpad should look like , I am also happy for W205 Owners because they will also get this cool gadget
HUD is a great add-on yet it enhances safety because you don't have to take your eyes off the road when driving lol

agreed about touchpad and HUD.
Going to wait until spring to order. Dealer said a custom ordered 4-magic S550 would be available in Feb/Mar. I feel like at that point, maybe I can wait for the 2015 MY to be available.
Im sure the car will have the 9 speed tranny just like the E class too.
For $1,800 month current lease rates, i can wait for better tech

Sorry for this large bump, but I just finished retrofitting this touchpad. The only thing I would ask to S Class owners who have this installed from the factory is that does it light up, and can it control numbers like the previous touchpad. Once again, sorry for this large bump.

What do you mean with "the previous touchpad"? There is no previous touchpad, just a keypad.
The touchpad does not have anything that corresponds to the keypad touch-key functionality, unfortunately.

I meant the keypad, sorry. I'll book an appointment for it to get coded so it should hopefully light up next week.
