2015 S63 AMG - Ordering Questions
Greetings all! I'm new to these forums and am also new to the Mercedes-Benz family. I wanted to know if anyone has been able to place an order for a 2015 model S63? I went to a local dealer here and they stated that there is currently no allocation for them for any 2015 models. They also stated that all 2014 models have been allocated already. So it seems like they are in a holding pattern. I'm curious as to when we'll be able to order the 2015 model. The main reason I wanted to wait for a 2015 is because I've heard from several sources including my local dealer that it'll include an option for a HUD as well as the new touch controller. I'm currently driving an F10 M5 which has a HUD so if at all possible, I wanted to keep this feature. I'm just looking to upgrade to something more luxurious. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks!

From what I have read the touch controller will not come until 2016, starting with the new E class, but I imagine that will make it into the 2016 S as well. So for 2015, my guess is the click wheel is still what it will have. The 2015 C is getting a HUD, so there is a good chance this could make the S as well, but perhaps not for early 2015 builds.

Thanks for the information. Do you know if the touch controller will be in this car as well? I've seen several articles that say it should include both. The touch controller isn't as big of a deal for me as the HUD though, so this is good to hear. When did you place your 2015 order? I went to my dealer a few weeks ago and they didn't even appear in the system as configurable. Is it available now for ordering or does it typically depend on the dealer?

Thank you for the information. So it looks like Touch controller and HUD are all standard on 2015 models...I'm assuming it will be standard or at least an option in the US. Did you get an ETA on build date/delivery date? Also, when did you place your order?

They have an interior package but the ordering guide did not say anything about the exterior.

BTW, Touchpad is confirmed as a standard equipment on S63. HUD is optional on S63 and its price has not as yet been released.

I guess you are referring to what's known as "773PKG Carbon Fiber Exterior Package". Accordingly to the DOG, it includes:

- 773 - Carbon Fiber Exterior (front splitter, rocker panel inserts, mirror covers and rear diffuser insert)

I'm going to ask what is probably a stupid question: Is it possible to special order the HUD on the 2014 S550 after delivery or is there no way this can be done since it would result in major reconfiguring on the dash? Ok, I warned you it was a stupid question so please don't kill me ;-)

I looked on my order and there is a new item code for the Touchpad which is 448. I guess the Touchpad is coming this year because the order guide says it is new for 2015. It also has the HUD which is code 463.

Perfect, thanks for the additional information. It looks like I need to contact my local dealer tomorrow to see if they received any allocation for the 2015 model. If so, I'll place my order tomorrow since I heard the availability of these for 2014 was fairly scarce.

Also, I guess I should have said that my car that I ordered is a 550 and not a 63 so maybe that makes a difference. Sorry about that.

Ahh okay, I'll let you know. I think I read someone else on this thread had an S63 on order already as well in Canada. May be different in the US though...
Quite honestly, my main thing was having the HUD option (my M5 spoiled me). The touchpad is a nice bonus though.

I originally placed the order for a 2014 S63 in August 2013 for a late 2013 production but it got bumped several times due, in part, to the exclusive leather interior and the interior CF package. Then the order rolled over to a 2015 model with a Jul/14 production. No word yet on delivery time frame but a few days ago MBCanada stated that everything has been keyed in and is a go.

I have an order for the 2015 S63 and the order was entered into Netstar on 2/18. As if last week it's still waiting to be accepted by MBUSA. My dealer does not have any allocations yet.
My opinion is that new MY15 S63 allocations will come after all the rolled over 2014 into 2015 orders are addressed.
As others have said - touchpad is standard but HUD is an option along with heated windshield.

Just got back from the dealer, he had some allocation so I was able to get my 2015 S63 on order (already in Approved status in NetStar). In case anyone is curious, I've attached my spec sheet. Build date set for 05/01 with delivery between June 28 - August 1 according to the dealer. The wait begins...

Congrats! Looks like a solid, fully loaded build. I'm glad to see the H10 option in there. In my case, it took my dealer some headache to confirm and add to the build as it suffered from extremely limited availability.

Thank you, appreciate the compliment. Yes, I was happy to be able to add everything I wanted to the build (including the limited availability items). Had to put 5k down for the reservation which is the norm at most premium luxury dealers in this area.
