Rear Entertainment System

Got a question to anyone who currently has the Rear Entertainment System feature. How sturdy are the monitors? Seems to me like they are sort of hanging off the back of the seat and I am afraid my kids will break them off...

They are sturdier than the look. My kids are in back all the time and haven't had any issues.

still don't know why so many other cars have them in the headrests, while MB
has them 'hanging' off the headrests.....I skipped this feature because of that,
I guess there is some sort of logic behind the design, like many other things they do

Could be that there wasn't enough space in the headrest to put this into?

Also with the screen hanging, you have the option to move it up and down, so you can adjust the screen to your liking.

But I kinda agree, I think the screens in the headrests are better.

it just appears nicer to me and smoother......not to mention the 'breakage' factor....
good point about space though; the headrests are thick

They went by same reason the new face-lifted CLS`s getting along standing screen attached to dashboard instead of in-dash.

For those that don't have the Rear Entertainment System (or even those that do, possibly), are their cords to plug in iPads?

In my car without the rear entertainment system, there are not any USB ports I could find. My son plugged his charger into the 110 outlet under the AC vents in the center console ( front not the armrest).

To clarify, there are two USB ports in the front center console.
