MB extended warranty - What is everyone paying?
My salesperson sent me a brochure and costs for extending the MB new car warranty coverage on my 2015 S550 4MATIC. The costs quoted were:
5yr, 75k miles: $2,269
5 yr, 100k miles: $3,629
5 yr, 125k miles: $4,359
6 yr, 75k miles: $3,039
6 yr, 100k miles: $4,469
6 yr, 125k miles: $5,249
7 yr, 75k miles: $3,499
7 yr, 100k miles: $4,999
7 yr, 125k miles: $6,149
My salesperson told me that a 15% surcharge would apply if I purchase the extended warranty after the vehicle purchase.
How do these numbers look to others who have purchased an extend warranty from MB ? I'm buying the car & plan on keeping it into the foreseeable future.
Let me know.
Thanks !

I have an email into Erin Mahre at Smothers in Santa Rosa. She has a reputation of discounting the extended warranty and tire/wheel warranty packages. Hopefully she'll work a deal with me...

I own a 2015 S550. I'm quoted what I paid and he knows who to contact already to get that rate.

Erin is the one to call. I was even able to get her discounted price in Florida where local dealers cannot discount extended warranties. Yes, that is really a state law. You know, because our state legislature is bought and paid for by businesses. I picked up the 7/100.

Agreed, a lot of people have had good luck with Erin. I emailed her on Monday. I'll call her this Friday if I've not heard back from her...

An interesting note is the CPO is apparently no longer pro-rated, so if you haven't gotten into the CPO warranty yet (still under factory warranty) and you no longer plan to keep the car (trade, total etc), apparently you can get 100% back. If you are into the CPO warranty period then it's pro-rated. And if you really get good use of the CPO warranty (i.e. lots of expensive repairs, costing more than the CPO warranty) then they won't refund you, so it's better to keep it with the car. The warranty is transferable, so it may add to the resale value. Always double check facts before buying incase things change.
I know I sound like I'm stumping for her, but I like to share positive experiences when I find them.

On a slightly different topic, has anyone pre-paid for their maintenance? Apparently it covers 3 services. My CPO had the 20k service done so I guess that would mean the next 2 service A's and 1 service B. I haven't checked pricing in San Jose for these services yet. Anyone else go this route?

Rsouthern,
From what I understand, the warranty is only transferable if you sell it to another individual, not a dealer. If you trade in the car, then the warranty is void with the dealer.
Did I understand you right when you implied that if you have entered into the CPO part of the warranty, that you could get some of the money back from Mercedes that you paid for it?

I know this is an old thread, but +1 for Erin. I just got an additional 2 years added to my 2015 CPO and she was very helpful and the price I paid was nicely discounted from what other dealers quoted me. My warranty now covers me through September 2021 with unlimited miles! Woohoo!

She will need your VIN since that determines options and configuration and those options probably impact the price. Erin called me back pretty quickly (next day if I remember right) and explained everything very clearly.

I'm always cautious about posting prices since situations and model/options may make a difference. I got about $1000 off the MSRP/price quoted by the dealer in Chicago. I'd recommend calling and getting your own quote and making sure your car qualifies for CPO vs Extended Warranty.

My car had CPO, I was still under the B2B, I then purchased the additional 2 years unlimited mileage. My out of state dealer saved me 10% off of the published price.
If it were not for the CPO and Unlimited mileage, I would not have purchased the Fully Loaded car. Invoice was a tad under $140- Looking for a CPO'd S500 Mabach in a few years....
Great decision on the CPO extension. Worry Free for many years and thousands of miles.
