I've heard that there is a fee to refill the bottles. i was always under the impression that you get free refills if you take it to the nearest dealership. Can anyone who has this option chime in?

those things were MADE to charge more, and then again when you need more......what's wrong with the scent of LEATHER?

for anybody who has the airbalance package, would you say its worth it? i know its not THAT expensive (not counting the refills) but i wonder if its even worth it.

I don't prefer them because the natural smell of the car tells me how clean the cabin is and the presence of fragrance always makes me suspect that it is hiding mold/fungus growth (say inside AC). Just my personal opinion.Originally Posted by c400benz

ExploreThe fragrance option is now standard on the 2015's. The most appealing thing for someone like me who prefers not to have any fragrances is the ionization setting (in COMAND settings), which electronically eliminates odors, but does not add odors. Ionization is part of the fragrance package that is now standard.

With what solution can you refill them with? Don't use febreze, you spray that inside the car and it can get very intense when trapped inside a small space.Originally Posted by DP2014
You can refill the air balance cartridges with your own scent and save on the refills.

Good one.

I think you can put perfume or any scented liquid in. Just buy a bottle of Chanel No. 5 and your wife will be happy Originally Posted by nyca

how are you sure that wouldnt damage the system? maybe it could clog the valves over time or something? Originally Posted by bb1510

Newbie
The original bottles are for sale on the the internet. Even empty bottles can be purchased as well as samples. (I think I may not mention link here? I'm not selling, just found a webshop)
The price of new original bottle is 54,50€ incl. tax and excl. shipping 15€.
An empty bottle costs 44,50€ and the sample box with 4 fragrances is 10,9 €.
I also like to know what other brands/fragrances can be used without damaging the system.

I'd love a bacon and eggs scent, or scents of foods; maybe animals? wet dog.....elephant stable......bison pasture, just a few of my favorites

You could just mix an ester compound to create the scents (eg. methylpropyl formate for the smells of raspberries) Originally Posted by hyperion667

I love the feature. Worth the chump change to add it. I guess it's standard now on 2015?Originally Posted by c400benz

Mine also has plenty of the original perfume in it. I have about 5800 miles now on mine as well (amazing coincidence Tom). Btw, does the top of the little bottle unscrew for refills? I tried unscrewing the cap one day and I could not.

yeah I'm at 7600+ miles and I ran out about a month ago. I had to drop the vehicle off due to "winshield" problems so getting service A as well of looming issues taken care of at the same time. The solution in the bottle seems to be more like a gel form like those plug-in air fresheners.
