Rear Glass Defect

The rear window of our 2015 S550 has a defect. I can't post a picture of it because it is too small to show up on a camera, but I have shown it to my SA and he has documented it in the system as having verified the defect.

Basically, there is a ripple in the glass which looks distorted. It is about 1" long and 1/4" tall. Not huge, but I am not sure what to do on a car that was almost $150k out the door.

The SA is happy to warranty it and have it replaced. He believes there are no safety issues.

Should I take this up with MB corporate?

Thoughts? Suggestions?

Why would it need to go to corporate if the dealer is willing the replace it under warranty?

I too have a similar ripple smack dab in the middle of the windshield. If it does not affect safety, how did you get it replaced? I thought my eyes were deceiving me when I saw the trees move at weird angles through the "crease" in the glass.

I showed the dealer and they agreed that it should be replaced, didn't take long either

I would rather be compensated than have them take the car apart to replace the back window.

So you guys think I should have the warranty done and the window replaced?

Don't think the dealer will do that since that's $ from their account vs. a 'free' warranty replacement plus what prevents you from taking the $ and then trying to get it replaced under warranty at a different shop
