I discovered something neat today!
I have had the keypad cover hidden underneath the console the past several days. In other words, the keypad has been exposed. Today while doing some errands around town, I rested the palm of my right hand on the keypad, but not really applying any pressure at all. All of a sudden, on the left side of the command screen what shows up but a bunch of favorite radio stations on the numbered keypad. For example, the NFL radio was showing up on number 7 and other stations on different numbers. So, when I would press a number the appropriate station would chime in.
But that's not all. I decided to press the favorites key on the upper center of the keypad and a different set of favorites such as seat, massaging, type of music, etc., etc. show up. I think this is really neat and very much unadvertised. Rather than fiddling around on the command screen, all one has to do is press a number on the keypad for one of your favorites.
I don't know if this was something I set up (when I bought the car) on the command screen which then goes to the keypad or what. I don't remember doing so. But in any case, it is a great feature. I am going to do a little more research the next few days by messing around on the command screen to see if this can be programmed there. I thought I knew everything about my car after owning it for a year, but I guess I don't.
it's funny that you can't just press a button for something, instead we need to call up a menu and then cycle through the options........like the seats, the climate control etc.......
makes the secondary keypad buttons invaluable imo
in's very simple in my CLS.........one button on /off.............no cycling through menus LOL
