Buying 2015 s550 4matic off the lot ($114k msrp)..

Trying to figure out the maximum discount on this car.
Dealer offered me $9.7k off the msrp (8.5%).

Is there any additional incentive that dealer is hiding?
(No USAA member..)

Please let me know im signing in any day!

You should be able to get 7% plus the $3K in trunk money without too much trouble. Depends what part of the country you live in. Seems you could push a little more.

Yes 15% off. The Sedan Market is dead.. My local dealer here has had some inventory sitting since 9/2014. Shop around

It can be tough. To get what I wanted I had to order the car and basically pay full price.

You should be able to get at least 12% off, open cars.com and see what you find

I'm curious, if anyone happens to know...what is a dealer's true cost (not counting factory cash to dealer)...is it msrp less this 15.5% number, or what?

i saw Costco had C300 MSRP $46k for $37k...perhaps you can inquire about S550 - after all, the 2016s are coming out soon. Good luck.

I am looking to move into a 2015 S550 4matic. How on earth are you able to get 15% + $3k off the car? Could you point me to a dealer? Thanks!

I highly doubt anyone can get a new 2015 S550 4matic for 15% +$3,000 off. There are probably some amazing deals out there but 15% +3k off is in la la land for a car with 0 to 25 miles on it (delivery miles). Of course, if you have a dealer going bankrupt and they need to move inventory for cash flow purposes MAYBE you could get 15% off +$3k. But how many MB dealers are in bankruptcy or "debtor in possession" scenarios? Plus MBUSA would take back the auto inventory if MB Finance is "floor planning" the inventory.

13-15% off msrp is pretty routine around me... Add group incentives like AMA, dental, law incentives etc...

So your saying that on a $114,000 car you can get $17,100 off plus $3000 or $20,100 total off on a 2015 S550 4matic without the AMA, Dental, etc. in the Chicago area? Time to get rid of the 2014 S550 4matic and to call some of the dealers I have dealt within the past 25 years in Chicago (have dealt with dealers all over the country in past 25 years but I prefer my hometown dealer in Pittsburgh). I belong to the American Institute of CPA's and the American Bar Association so I am familiar with their discounts.

I'm confused. Which dealer is selling at 15% off sticker? I'd gladly drive there. The best I'm getting is 8-9% (that includes the $3000 incentive)...

I haven't seen $20k discounts on the S-Class anywhere, at least not with $3k factory money ( which I assume should have increased for June). $15k should easy to get but I see the more desirable color/options combinations moving of lots fast...

Actually it may have gone down for June...here is a link to the fleet discount (FEP), which shows only $1000 for June (click the arrow near the bottom "current fleet incentives"), which suggests factory cash of maybe $500, for those who don't qualify for FEP. When I bought in April through my wife's company, I got $3500. Could be there are different levels of fleet discounts, though...I know that my wife's company qualifies for the USAA level.

I don't think so. I am referring to factory incentives for the 2015 models. They go up, not down during the last months of the model year. This has nothing to do with fleet discounts.

Very frustrating that the fleet discount just dropped from $3500 to $1000 overnight!! Grrrrrrrr.....

Well, as I understand it, a buyer cannot get BOTH the factory to dealer incentive and the fleet incentive. So, in my case when my order arrived in April, factory to dealer was $3k and FEP $3500...so I got the benefit of the $3500, not $6500. And I am told that FEP will always be at least as high as factory to dealer. So, if FEP is only $1000 for June, I think factory to dealer is probably only $500 now.

Anyway, that's only my conjecture. Maybe someone who is shopping currently can illuminate us.

Big picture, you can ignore what the dealers tell you about incentives blah blah blah, they use that as a way to floor the pricing talk, ie I can give you 3% off MSRP plus incentives at delivery.

Truth is any dealer can go north of 10-12% off MSRP, I've seen 15-16% off during the rush in Dec. These incentives and factory cash make it easier for the dealer to discount aggressively since he's not funding the entire discount out of his wallet, but even without big incentives, you should be able to get close to 10% off with some negotiation and leg work.
