I think he's referring to the built in data service on the car that uses the cell network, not how to connect his cell phone to the infotainment system.
Check behind rear wall trunk paneling, n112/9 "communications/control module" – 54 in diagram. If malfunctioning search “hermes” for related bulletins and service campaigns here: https://mbworld.org/forums/new-s-cla...tins-date.html

Just found out that in my vehicle it has an eSIM which is a part of the complete comms module and not exchangeable.
To change service you need to get its various numbers and that can only be done with one of Mercedes' tools which connects to the said device and can access the data.
Since Mercedes took it upon themselves to have an exclusive service provider for Internet and recently decided to move providers without properly dealing with all of the accounts this affects my vehicle lost its Internet connectivity 7/20 and it is as yet not restored and has cost me 35 hours so far in troubleshooting and talking with old provider, new provider and various departments of Mercedes.
Current models have a HERMES conrol unit for telematics services N112/9 and it has the eSIM designed into it and is not exchangeable, I believe it is reprogrammable with the technicians tool and can be accessed bt that tool to supply the EUICC; ICCID; IME1: IME2: numbers which are needed by the service supplier to link to their account for you which they always refer to by its phone #. Be aware that the provider uses different acronyms for each of these numbers also the ICCID number, which is 20 digits is not acceptable to T-mobile as they require one with 19 digits. They needed the 32 digit number EUICC Mercedes synonym which they called by another name.

I have similar problem. Is it correct that the "technicians tool" needed to get these data is available at any MB dealership? Thanks.

Hello, I am having the same problem with my 2020 MB Sprinter 3500 Motorhome. I cannot switch to T-Mobile because I am unable to access the information that T-Mobile needs in order to switch. Somehow AT&T is unable to activate the e-SIM, even when I offered to pay for the monthly subscription. Please let me know how you resolved this issue. Thank you.
