latest on low dust brake pads
Anyone know if Akebono has a set of pads for the 15 s class yet? Looking for a new set of pads and rotors for my MY15 4Matic for the front. Also tired of all the dust.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Have you looked at Brakeworld.com? I put their ceramic pads on my 2018 S450 and the brake dust problem is gone! I got the DISCITALIA® brand and they work great.

Girodisk
I just ordered rotors and pads for my 2015 S63 from www.girodisc.com, they should arrive next week.
1/2 the price of MB and are supposed to have significantly decreased brake dust, rotors weigh less, and have a nicer-looking aluminum center.
They don't have the parts listed on their website, you have to call them.

Just talked to Girodisc and based on my VIN, they do not make rotors for my car. Apparently the MY15 with sport package has 370MM rotors up front, same as the maybach so it is a dealer only sourced product. Ordered a set from MBPARTS online. Ordered the Brembo pads from Rock auto so hopefully everything fits OK.

Go with OEM Rotors and Disc-italia Ceramic Pads. They come with hardware.

For you guys that have tried the italia disc how is the stopping?
Ive put the brembo ceramics on my x5 and they dust less than oem but still dust, akebonos were way better in that regard.

The car seems normal with Discitalia pads. Of course they still generate dust but much, much less. The dust is lighter colored that the OEM pads. I can drive for a month and not see the dust. If I run my finger over the rim I can see some residue.

I put the Italia hyper ceramics on my car back in May and they are just great. Cost more than what Akeebono would have for a set of 4 pads but my wheels stay clean. I also put on new rotors at the same time as pads. I bought the OEM slotted rotors from fcpeuro.com. They have free lifetime replacements on all their parts you buy.

Not true. I bought same model rotors from fcpeuro.com. Paid roughly 600 for all four rotors.

Sorry, should have said it was an MB part only. I purchased my fronts for around 150 bucks each from a MB dealer in the midwest. Sounds like it is somewhat dependent on the VIN and build of each car based on options. Most of the big body benz rotors are 360MM but mine are 370MM for some reason.

Used Akebono for our old SL's but they didn't for the R231. There have been excellent write-ups for Racingbrake pads on the SL forum. High performance, low dust...
They list the same pads for the W222 S550 as for the SL (https://www.racingbrake.com/SearchRe...nsive_Search=Y)
I would confirm fitment though...
