And while true, he doesn't. The W222 in the documentary, based on the center screens having the divider down the middle means it's preFL (if I saw that right). I expect people like Larry Ellison to be buying a new S class every 4 days, but good on Bill for doing something useful with his money. (or many things useful, for that matter).

Bill is known to have a frugal streak. I heard in the early 90's, when he was worth some billions already though obviously not as much as now, that Bill refused to fly anything other than coach. That changed, eventually, maybe after he got a pie in the face when walking through the lobby of a building in Belgium.

Buffet is even more frugal, including with cars, his last 2 being Caddies.

3x pies in the face in Belgium. Both Bill and Steve (Ballmer) flew coach on United Airlines well into the 2000s actually. Microsoft's corporate travel policy now has executives using Netjets (EVP and up. CVPs may obtain approval) and employees have a bit more discretion about class of travel on trips now on commercial airlines.

Don't ask me how I know.

That's assuming the basic needs being met. I still know old friends that live paycheck to paycheck........that's a hard way to save money and enjoy yourself at the same time. But yes......saving money!

Bill is an amazing philanthropist, spends his time and money making our world a better place. From solving waste removal in 3rd world countries to driving down Polio worldwide to creating clean power for the future.

He is a very honorable person.
