https://www.tirebuyer.com/tires/unir.../style/655253# They seem like great tires for the money, very inexpensive but the car handles well, low road noise and a long lasting smooth riding all season tire that can be used year round in most places. Good experience with Tire Buyer too, managed to get an extra 7 percent off the total too as they were having a sale.

Just curious: what size(s) are you running? What was your total cost, with mounting, balancing, etc.?

Total price for the tires including Florida Sales tax after my 50 dollar rebate was $680 and the install including mounting balancing and TPMS removal and re-install was $120 so total of $800.00 for all four tires. The front size is 245/40R 20 and rear is 275/35R 20. These tires are Z rated so 149 MPH. Doubt I'll be going that fast anytime soon, lol. These are Ultra high performance tires so I'm sure the sidewall is stiffer than a grand touring tire but I find they give a very comfortable ride and I generally leave the suspension in Sport mode as I like being a little bit lower and the car seems to have a little better road feel in that mode. I'm sure though once I'm back in New England I'll have the suspension in Comfort mode with the bad roads. These Tires are smoother than the Pirelli P Zero Run Flats that I took off the car, then again these tires are not run flats. Should I by some chance get a flat the car will have to be flat bedded to the dealer.

Thanks, it's good to be back in the S class. You probably remember me when I use to post here before when I had my 2015 S550. Really did miss that car. I traded it in for a E450 Cabriolet about a year and half ago and really did like the E450 Cabriolet a lot but had to give up the car because I use a wheelchair and rely on doing transfers into and out of the car and it was getting to be too much on my shoulders. Traded that E450 in just recently for a 2017 S550 close to even trade and feels really good being back in the S550. It's one of the best wheelchair cars out there, nice wide opening doors and level transfer. My shoulders are really liking the car.

Liking these tires. They can be slightly more noisy than a lot of tires on grainy pavement but I think that’s just because the rubber compound is so hard. I really feel I’ll get at least 30 to 40 k miles out of these tires. The car handles great and gas mileage is 28 on the highway at 70.

Glad you are enjoying new ride and tires. However, Consumer Reports was not very kind to the Tiger Paw GTZ AS 2 tires giving them an overall rating of 48.

Highs
Very good hydroplane resistance
Noise very good
Dry braking very good

Lows
Low tread life (35K miles actual on avg cars vs 50K warranty then cut in half for staggered since u can't rotate)
Fair scoring tire for wet stopping, snow traction, ride comfort, and rolling resistance.

My 2016 S550 and I are calling it quits on the
PIRELLI P ZERO A/S run-flats with 6/10th's remaining thread depth, due to harsh ride mainly and product defects. This weekend, ordered a set of Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+ tires for $920 installed plus road hazard, given performance satisfaction on my Lexus LS460 the last two sets. (CR 66 overall rating)

A real enthusiast would have probably selected Ultra High Performance Summer tires like Michelin Pilot Sport 4S (CR 76 overall score) or Continental ExtremeContact Sport tire (CR 75 overall score) for driving in the warm South - ATL in my case.

Given that I like the occasional fast straight-away vs. hard turns in the corners, I am happy with a middle of the road Ultra High Performance All Season tire with a Y speed rating.

Cheers and Go KC in tomorrow's game!

I have the conti Dws 06 with less than 10k miles on them. I can see there not going to last long. The outer edges in front are already showing some real wear. Car was just aligned at dealer when installed and just done again. Big heavy cars pushed a bit are going to eat tires. Just the way it is.

That was nearly the tire I went with was the DWS 06 and then I decided to try something different, figured for the price why not. It will be interesting to see how long these Uniroyals hold up. Seems like the road noise has decreased considerably now that they are worn in, have 600 miles on them already.

Just got the tires rebalanced at the MB dealer today. They were not balanced probably from the local tire store I had them mounted. Rides like a dream on the highway now at higher speeds. Had them do Road force balance, more expensive but seems like the way to go with 20 inch rims and over. Really liking these tires. Just hoping they make it beyond 20K miles.
