The S Cabriolet is pretty, but IMO, REALLY boring. It has a mushy, hollow feeling when you drive it. The rear seats are cramped for adults. There are still some new 2020 SL’s out there. You might want to take a look and see if you can find one with ABC. The retractable hard top is simply wonderful! That said, between these two, I’d take the Acura.

Nonsense, the S class convertible is far from boring. Since you're only concerned with 2 seaters, the rear seats are just a bonus. I test drove the S and E class Cabriolets, and went for the E class due to cost savings, and an overabundance of leather in the S, which jacks the price up. The ride is terrific, and the dynamic selection modes are superb. Plus the interior styling is first rate, with the large sweeping one piece digital speedometer and info systems. It comes down to styling and preference. If I had to chose, I'd go for the S Cab.
How about a Porsche 911 Carerra Cabriolet, thats what I'd be driving for a toy if I could get in and out, too low for me. But I just rid of E450 Cabriolet identical to the one in your pic. Nice car, was sorry to get rid of it but too low for me getting in and out. I'm not really crazy about Acura's myself, more of a German car fan.
I agree with Streamliner, had the S63 on a 2 week vacation in South of France, probably one of the best places for that car.
Had high expectations and ended up very disappointed, it is really boring indeed, I couldn’t wait to get rid of it.
Last October had the new Bentley Conti in Tuscany, probably, definitely, the best car of that type if you are not 25 anymore.
Try it.

Yrs! If you are thinking of going into that price range, the new Continental is gorgeous and would be SO much fun to order! Of course, if we are talking a rag top, the new SL isn’t too far off.
Recently sold a 911 GTS Cab and loved it. Have an incoming project car and needed to sell. IMHO....get something sporty to differentiate from the sedan. Drive them all and see/feel what you like T
I think the sports car end of the 2-seater class is about to be turned on its head with the new C8 Corvette.
It can be well appointed (3LT)
It is stupid fast (0-60 under 3 seconds)
It looks the part
and has room for golf clubs.

Yes, but we need to give it a few years. They need to refine it a bit. They need to offer some electronic safety measures such as automatic emergency braking, radar cruise, etc. All of these goodies are in the GM parts bins. They need to realize that MANY potential Vette buyers are old folks.
Not a choice, but my vote is a Porsche. Amazing driving characteristic. Best resale value (or lease depreciation) for long term ownership. I love Mercedes but the AMG GT still does not drive as well as a Porsche 911.

How does the ride quality compare between the 911 and AMG GT?
I'd always go for Porsche 911 for any coupe car (or a toy). For Mercedes, I'd only consider it for S-class or GLE/GLS, otherwise MB is a boring car if u want it as a toy.
Personally I take the AMG GTC roadster as my preferred 2 seater. To me this is a classic roadster with a long hood, one of the best sound tracks in the business and makes for a better top down car than any 4 seater (MB, Bentley or otherwise). The SL as a convertible is much more practical but the GTC is a drives better. Extremely agile and balanced with its mid-front engine layout, DCT on the rear axle and rear wheel steering.
I agree with Streamliner on the S-cab but feel the Bentley will deliver the same top-down experience. The last did anyway. The Corvette may be capable but we'll have to see it actually drives. Hell of a deal but I still don't like the looks of the car.
Not sure if the Tesla roadster will ever come to pass, but that would be an interesting car for me.

More confidence inspiring. The dimensions of the Porsche and seemingly shorter bonnet makes it feel smaller and easier to maneuver. And yet it actually feels comfortable as a daily driver. They feel so different that anyone who drives both will have a clear personal preference. I think people who love to drive would veer toward the Porsche. There may be many comparisons on the internet but it just takes one test drive.

I'm certain it sounds so much better with no top eh? Nice pic

I “love to drive,” always have. But spirited driving no longer entices me, especially living here in Southern California. Instead, I enjoy a machine that has sophisticated systems, working together seamlessly, which give me a smooth, safe, comfortable, quiet and relaxed driving experience. I agree, Porsche makes wonderful vehicles. The current 911 is simply amazing and I almost went with a Carrera S Cabriolet this last time around, but as great as the car is, my SL is a much better fit for me, warts and all. If pricing and value are part of the equation, then the SL becomes a no-brainer decision.

Getting back to the original question posted, did you make a decision between the Acura NSX and the S-class convertible? Curious to know what direction you went. Again, I don't think you can go wrong with the S class CAB. I take it you've driven both cars.

I'm new to this game, if we are comparing with NSX, shouldn't we compare with a Vette? With the mid-engine C8 came out, that looks like a Ferrari..
NSX isn't luxurious in the interior right? Also, if we have to compare with Mercedes, we have to pick Gt63 or similar as we are comparing sport car vs luxury..!
Drive both. As I approach 50, my tolerance for tight-suspension sports cars wanes as I prefer COMFORT. I think the ultimate coupe or convertible is the S class. A Porsche 911 is special in its ability to remain a comfortable daily driver while maintaining amazing confident sports car characteristics.
