Thinking more about this, we need to consider exactly how the cars being compared are equipped. An S560, sedan, running on 20” wheels & run flat tires, with the basic AirMatic suspension may not feel all that much different compared to an S63 with conventional tires. However, equip the S560 as mine is, with 18” wheels, very cushy, conventional tires & Magic Body Control and I would bet that the difference in the ride would be considerable.
And, if you are going to get the S63, make SURE you get the Ceramic Composite Brake option and forged wheels. An AMG without CCB, is like a martini without the GIN!

Just get the best of both worlds.
Buy the S560 and put a tune on it.
You will have all the power of the S63 for the price of the S560. The only thing you will be missing is the exhaust note.
I love my 2016 S550 4Matic with the tune from PresserTech, It’s a luxury rocket in sport mode, which is all I drive in.

I've had both and other than brake pad changes being 3 times more than any car I've ever owned, I loved it. I was at 85,000 miles and had ZERO issues with it but knowing that my warranty was running out and facing upwards of $10,000 in rotors, brake pads, and tires, I decided to tame it back down to the S560 and I love it too. Between the two, I like the 560 better because of how smooth and quiet it is. Do I miss my 63, heck yes! To answer your question, since $$$$ is no issue, get the AMG S63/65 and I would get the W222 and not wait on the W223.

Glad to hear you've settled on the S63. I find it funny in threads like this where people finally decided... OK, I'm getting this one, and the people keep debating - oh, you should get this one, or no, you should get this one, when you've already said what you're getting.
You cannot and will not go wrong getting the S63. So, what color combo are you getting? I wish my car had the carbon ceramic brakes but it was on a dealer's lot this way, without them. Whatever. I LOVE my car, you will too. Post pics of course when you get it. You'll be SO STOKED.

Sounds like dealer pricing for multi-piece steels (along with tires, etc.) Even in steel format, multi-piece rotor are significantly more expensive but in steel there are many more choices/pricepoints, unlike CCB.

The choice of a 560 vs a S63 is one of personal preference and desire, not one of rationale. The financials are easy to understand so the only thing relevant is how the OP feels about either car after a lengthy test drive or two.

The Ceramic Composite Braking System is something truly wonderful and it’s a shame that MB does not make it available on more models. I’ve never owned an AMG vehicle, but found the CCB so attractive, that I had them retrofitted to my 2019 SL450. It is a very simple, “bolt on” procedure, but quite pricey, costing me over $16,000.00. And, unlike most guys who have the super fast AMG cars, I drive my little roadster like the proverbial “little old lady,” just cruising around the coast here in South Orange County. I put the brakes on for two reasons: First and foremost, they give off ZERO brake dust, keeping my forged AMG wheels—which I also added—sparkling clean, even after hundreds of miles, which also helps keep the rest of the car clean as well. Secondly, I love the way the huge discs & golden calipers look. By the way, the stopping power is off the charts. For the $8,900.00 option price when one orders an S63, the CCB option is a true bargain, IMO.

Agreed with everything you wrote, I also drive slower than most AMG fanatics drive but I'd LOVE to have these gold brakes too. If they were $8900 I'd get them in a second today...but at $16k+, I can't fathom that for me personally. Darn it. I'm so cheap on certain things... and not others. The dust KILLS me. I know I should buy ceramic brake pads but I'll have to research again which are the best ones to get and which actually fit correctly on my car and don't squeal. The last thing I need right now is more stress, coming from squealing brake pads. Which are the very best ceramic pads for our 2018 S63's? Anyone? Not cheapest, but best.

Agreed. I bought my car used and couldn't find any for sale at the time that had CCB's. My car is due a complete rear brake service (pads and rotors for $4k), if it wasn't $16k to switch, I would consider that before doing the rears back to stock. Your car looks good with the mods!

I knew eventually we could, at a minimum, convert you to some AMG parts. Maybe there is hope you will buy something like the S63.

It's SO comfortable and serene in comfort mode. If you're even thinking about a 2020 S63, I'd just get one. You will NOT be disappointed. It rides like a dream in comfort and sport mode and eats up the highway without any jerkiness, roughness and is smooth as silk. Plus, it says S63 on the back, kind of cool.

S560 vs s63
I test drove both today and felt like the S63 is just a little bit stiffer than S560. Does this bother me? Not at all. I loved the way it drives and felt like the S560 I had besides being very comfortable; It was kind of boring after a few hours of drive. I am personally not a fan of stiff rides, so I could never get an AMG! However, I believe the S63 is the only model that I can be happy as a daily.
I almost pulled the trigger on a 2019 s560 when I traded my 2016 s550 in. My 2019 s63 is a faster sharper handling car that is maybe a bit firmer riding car(in comfort mode)
if price is no object, the s63 is simply a more rewarding car to drive

Price must not be an object. Wait till you have to have to do Brakes and Rotors every year or so!
