Why the big difference in Rotor Costs?

How many of you when it's time to change your brake rotors actually go the Mercedes route of $2,000 plus dollars? Or do you go after market for a few hundred? Just curious so I can better be prepared for when that time comes around. Thanks.

There are high quality aftermarket rotors and there are lower quality. If you buy a quality brand, no problem. Here is a web link that is useful:

2019 S63 4Matic+, 2018 E400 Cabrio, wardens car.
You are comparing apples and oranges. The 2K+ rotor is Ceramic and intended for an S65/63. The $200 rotor is for a standard S550 etc. The factory rotors are typically more but not 10X more. Personally I have used Rockauto for my Ceramic Pads and Steel Rotors on my MY15 S550 4Matic with AMG package. Total parts cost for front and back including pads, rotors and all fluids, brackets and HW is right at about 1K. Brake dust is non existent with good ceramic pads and performance is about the same.

Really not worth getting Rotors with that range $$$$..?!!?,,

if you can measure your current Rotors, it will be so easy to find other alternative OEM Rotors from other MB models that will fit perfectly..

$2K for a rotor is the you have to pay if you want to play with AMGs. No thanks.

$196 each for fronts from Autohauz AZ

Pretty reasonable.

The front steel brakes for my Porsche 997 Turbo are $295 each, and the ones for the '04 Subaru STi I used to have were $386 a piece back in the day.
