Hey Guys, I've been hunting with the search feature and either I don't know how to use it or it hasn't been asked before.

Im looking to buy a 2015 s550. It has the amg bumpers on it but the seats are this plain looking seat, looks like the cheapest option. How did MB decide which seats to put in which cars? Based on the options the buyer chose?

How can you tell if it has the amg package? From my research AMG package does not change the interior. correct me if im wrong,

What options were available for the 2015s so I can figure out which package this one came with from the factory.
The owner isn't much help and neither is the dealer.

I was not but I was interested in that one as well. not sure if still available or not.
How did you find that? If i gave you the vin of the one i was referring to, can you pull it for that one?

You are right, it can be tough finding the car with the right combinations of options since it seems everything is ala carte.

From an exterior visual standpoint, the AMG package is revised front and rear fascia and rocker trim. And maybe the wheels. But purchasers can opt for different wheels as far as I know.

To find what a car had from the factory, use a VIN lookup tool. Input the VIN and you'll get a rough idea of the build sheet.

Mercedes will often offer AMG inspired packages for the regular cars. Example of a possible package might be AMG wheels, aero moldings, and stuff like that. This is most assuredly NOT a real AMG in these aspects. With the w222 S Class the ONLY AMGs they have made are the S63 and S65. I can add for trivia since I own one that the Maybach also has a load of AMG parts such as brake calipers, and engine components stamped with AMG but it is not classified as an AMG car.

Had you thought about buying an original sales brochure on ebay maybe from the year 2015.
This would tell you all the options available at the time.
The AMG line package added the specific wheels, the side skirts and the front and rear styled bumpers, oh and also the exposed exhaust pipes as well.
My 2015 S class AMG line has the " plain " interior as I wanted the rear bench seat and not the fancy rear seat due to the comfort for the middle passenger , I did go to try out the centre rear seat in a used car specifically to see what it was like and it was not comfortable at all.
When you are specifying a car to be built you could option what ever interior and seat package you wanted, within reason, mine is an amazing Crystal grey with seashell grey combination, the exterior is Diamond Silver.

The only way to tell inside if it has the AMG package is if it has the metal trim sport pedals.
