Swap 19's for 20's AMG Question Before Purchase

I've been searching for awhile for the perfect CPO S560 and I found one close to me, problem is it has the 19in AMG wheels and I want the 20in wheels. Is the bolt pattern the same and I do not want run flats so I'm just making sure I change change out and does anyone know how much it will cost outside the car purchase to buy another set of rims and tires...

Thanks!
David

Congrats on the new S! Post a pic, love to see it. There are lots of wheel sets here on the MBWorld classifieds, and there are companies that offer a big selection of used/refurbished wheels like Santa Anna Wheel in Anaheim, CA. New wheels from a dealer could be wildly expensive, but you can often find "take offs" where someone upgraded wheels and tires on a fairly new car.

Nearly all Mercedes cars use a 5 x 112 mm bolt pattern so that's not an issue. You'll want to check the "ET" measurement, also referred to as "offset" ... your car prob has 38 mm ET, and I think most W222 AMG wheels are 38, but you'll want to verify before you buy.

Thanks, but I haven’t bought the car yet, making sure I can swap out and it seems like I can. Gotta find take offs now. 😊

This 560 is a big difference from my 2013!

If I could do it all over again I would go 19". I have the 20" AMG wheels; all 4 have been bent multiple times and repaired. MB wheels are known for bending.

Did you have run flats?

No, I had Continental DWS 05 and now have Michelin Pilot AS4s. I would have appreciated the soft ride and lack of pothole damage from 19”s. And I’m only 36.

I would try it with the 19”’ for a while and see how you like it. My car came with the 20” AMG multispoke on pirelli runflats, and although they look good and it’s not a bad ride I know it could be smoother.

This has been an often discussed issue on many posts. I had the Michelin runflats on the car, from new. The Firestone Indy 500s are so profoundly different it is amazing. Gone is the thump/bang over railroad tracks or thwack over expansion joints. I run Nokians on equal sized 19" for the winter, excellent tire as well, a little bit loud but acceptable. Here in Maine most people run dedicated snows on other set of wheels.
