2018 S560 Prices

Hey guys,

Thinking about upgrading my S550 as it seems I can get some free cash on trade-in. Not quite interested in the new-gen nor can I stomach the dealer markups.

I am looking at options in the low to mid $70k range, does that seem expensive for a near 4 year old S-Class? Typically, I see 3 year old S-Classes going for $50-60k. I just do not want to make an unwise financial decision when the cars are essentially the same.

Please all ears open for advice. Just for any more information I have low miles on my S550 (55k) and it has 20 inch Vossens I just put on at the beginning of the year.

2018 S560 RWD
car market keeps getting worse and worse for buyers but amazing for sellers, bought my 2018 s560 for 80k after taxes in November. I would either pull the trigger now because things could get worse or wait and see if they get better. My sister bought her toyota rav4 for 28k and carmax just bought hers for 35k today. carmax overpaying by that much should tell ya something lol

Were there any significant changes after 2018? I can't think of many. One reason to upgrade might be to get equipment/features you want that aren't on your present car, or if you just find an exceptionally sweet example.

I wouldn't rule out upgrading to an 18+ model with the right equipment, but I like my 2016 enough that I wouldn't spent a big chunk of money to do it.

I wouldn't mind just having the newer body style since I can use the money from the value of my current car as essentially a down payment. Apple carplay would be nice. Never felt as if the facelift W222 dated my car.

I talked to a sales rep and he said take it to carmax as well. I hate carmax though because in 2017 when I took my 13 S550 there they valued it nearly $5k less than what I ended up getting in on trade.

2018 has the three-lined headlamp motif and I think the fuddy duddy steering wheel was done away with.

Mid $70's seems to be the going rate for well equipped, relatively lower mileage '18 S 560s. Prices are high for everything right now. Buyers can't get their hands on new cars and are pushed into the lightly used examples. It's trickling down to all cars built within the last decade.

I do think the S560 is a better car than the S550 in almost every way, but the differences are so marginal that it’s hard to justify spending $20-30k for them.

CarMax 2021 is way different than 2017, they are paying much more and of course super easy. If you want top $$ sell as a private party.
