Extended Warranty Recommendations
Hello all, I am new to the forum and just bought myself a 2015 S550 4matic sedan. The car has about 48k miles and I am looking to get an extended warranty. I have considered not getting an extended warranty but have decided it would be best for me to get one for the peace of mind. Does anyone here have any recommendations on any companies that have exclusionary coverage at a good price? Thank you

The general consensus for extended warranty seems to be to go for exclusionary coverage, ideally from Mercedes. I assume you live in North America, so I can't advise further.
Whether you should or not, it's a whole other topic altogether, but for me, it already paid off. W222 are not cheap to fix if something goes wrong and the peace of mind is totally worth it IMO.
I just got my car from service and they found an oil leak that has to be repaired (they'll need the car for 3 days or so). The car was in great condition when I bought it, it passed the pre-purchase check and I don't drive aggressively, but it still happened.
Whether you should or not, it's a whole other topic altogether, but for me, it already paid off. W222 are not cheap to fix if something goes wrong and the peace of mind is totally worth it IMO.

There is a finite number of warranty companies, so if you have read the other threads there is little if anything to add. However, I will repeat the info I had previously posted in those threads to confirm I am still satisfied with the warranty......I bought Fidelity Platinum in 2019 for my 2015 S550 that had 6,300 miles at the time. I gave $4k for an 8yr/80k, $250 deductible warranty (I will put between 6,000-8,000 miles a year on the S). With Fidelity you can buy at any dealer that sells Fidelity, so if you have a relationship with a Ford dealer that sells Fidelity, you can buy it there. My local MB dealer ended up being cheaper than the couple of dealers recommended in the threads you reviewed. I have used the warranty once and the local MB dealer processed the claim with Fidelity.

That is a big number! Mileage at time of purchase is a big factor in pricing. Another factor these days is the increasing cost of parts which will push the warranty costs higher. Everyone's situation is different. In my case I was lucky with very low mileage, and with my wife and I having multiple vehicles annual miles are limited.

The car had been purchased and serviced at the local MB dealer, but they did not question or inspect the car, although they may have checked their service records. I was somewhat surprised they did not inspect the car, as I could see someone buying a warranty to get an expensive existing repair covered.

As a extended warranty issuer for both Fidelity and Freedom Warranty, two of the top names in the business for both value and claims acceptance. When looking at Endurance, my number one issue is their poor rating and lack of accreditation with the Better Business Bureau.
