Wireless charging iPhone S560
iPhone 13 on 15.6.1 appears to charge in front wireless area (storage compartment)
iPhone 13 Pro Max on 15.6 does NOT appear to charge wirelessly but does charge at home on an Anker wireless charger.
Any suggestions? The 15.6.1 upgrade was done today before getting in the car.
It could be the case I have. I will test without it even though the case works with the Anker charger. The iPhone 13 has an Apple case. The 13 Pro Max has a leather case from Amazon.

Usually this is a size problem. Some of the larger phones in certain car chargers are too big to lie flat on the charger and therefore don't charge. A case can make it worse as it makes the phone even bigger.

I tried in the back. It wouldn’t charge there either. The car is a lot bigger than the phone LOL. But I appreciate the comment. Thank you. I will take the case off and test. Sucks to be me. At least I can charge from USB.

So after some experimenting I think I have a problem, maybe. I took off my phone case on the 13 Pro Max. I took out the rubber mat in the center console. My phone charged for maybe 5-10 minutes then I got a warning about wireless charging not available. We did try with the iPhone 13 but not for very long.
Any suggestions about how to troubleshoot this, and what I can say to the service department? It should work considering I can charge it wirelessly at home.

Wireless charging works on my 2020 S560 Cabriolet. Samsung note 20. After 4 or more hours it sometimes gets too hot to continue charging. It is fully charged by then.

Samsung phones charge but get hot & charging shuts down if you have the rear climate controls. This is due to the very reduced size of the center console storage area to accommodate the extra fan and evaporator now located in the bottom of the console. Simple fix is to leave the center console door open when charging, PIA.
I'm looking into installing a low profile 5V USB micro fan in the area under the console door. It may not take much air movement to keep temps down enough for the charger to continue working when the lid is closed.
Definitely an engineering oversight.

So I think my iPhone 13 Pro Max doesn't (always) charge in my 2020 S560 because it's just too big. I'm going to try a smaller iPhone 13 on my next road trip in a few weeks. Sucks but oh well.
Has anyone tried something like this? I see a note that it's "always on". Is the car smart enough to shut off power after a while or would this drain the battery somehow?
