Question Just bought and still learning

I live in the USA just bought a 2020 Class 560. I'd be very grateful if anyone has any thoughts on the below...total Mercedes newbie to be honest..
In the trunk there was a towing lug, and the locking wheel nuts. Nothing else. Anyone know hat should be in there?
Also in the Rear RHS door storage is fixed a strange felted holder for something spherical or semi spherical. Does anyone know what that is?
It looks like somebody removed the slide out trunk platform as well. Even the valve stem dust covers were gone.
That said, I paid 86k including 2 years extra warranty through 2027 and the mileage is 5k. The car is immaculate but I'm curious - a fair deal do people think?

The felted holder in the door is for the ashtray:

2019 S63 4Matic+, 2018 E400 Cabrio, wardens car.
The slide out tray is an option, if you have access to the original sticker it will tell you if it had this accessory or not. Easy to add if you want it, they do pop up on Ebay for a few hundred bucks every once in a while. Ashtray probably got tossed. Some cheapskates or dealer scumbags strip all the stuff out of a car to sell online but the trunk typically does not have much more than a first aid kit, tow eye and maybe the wheel locks. Your car probably has run flat tires so no need for tools or a spare theoretically. Valve Stem covers are almost always gone as they fall off or forget to be put back on. As to the price, it really depends on the options that are installed. Could be a 115K MSRP car or a 160K MSRP car, that really drives retail value.

Thank you, that is awesome and answered all my questions. Much appreciated! I must say ive now drive this vehicle for a couple weeks and am really liking it. For a bigger car it has good acceleration and is very comfortable over long distance. Thanks Again!

The slide out unit is called a Comfort Box, had them in my last 3 Mercedes, I use it regularly. But I’m not sure I would pay dealer prices for one!

Thanks and understood. It looks like its basically a frame with a concertina style bag that deploys downwards. I agree it looks like $500 bucks is a very high number for that..

Welcome to the forums. Yes the S class is one of the finest driving and most comfortable cars ever made. I'd say for the price you paid you got a good deal even if you car is fairly close to base, most cars have at least the premium package and Distronic adaptive cruise control which gives a msrp sticker of around 118K or so. The extra 2 year CPO I'd assume MB warrantee you got is worth at least 4 to 5 grand. Plus sounds like very low miles on your car for a 2020. I'm sure you'll be really happy with it. Post some pics of it. Like was said these cars do really vary by price based on how many options the cars have. My car has practically everything and listed for 155K sticker. Although in used cars options are worth less it still does make a difference in overall price.

Thank you. I think the car is fairly close to base bit I'm already liking things that are a bit out of the ordinary...the trunk close from the key fob and the "kick" close, the height control, the parallel park feature etc..although ive yet to try them out...

So as you suggested I attached a few pictures and the color of the car is "Ruby Black" - it actually looks a bit "red" in the right sunlight..its unusual for sure.. Anyway, thanks so much for all the help and guidance on here. In order to "trim-out" the car, I did buy the perfume dispenser (wife liked it) and the ash tray (didnt like having a "hole" and nothing for it in the rear door). I dont think I will buy the pull out bag - just doesnt seem worth it but the hooks look good and are definitely next up. THANKS !

Looks really nice, great color combo, I had that interior on my last car. Cant beat the deal you got with super low miles. I've got around ten times that on my car already and only had it a couple of years. Generally not too many issues on these cars so it should be reliable for you and they are good on gas too especially on the highway. Biggest problem I had with mine was a fuel smell in the garage which the dealer kept on denying existed and it turned out to be something fairly simple just a clamp on the low pressure fuel line up near the passenger side valve cover that was seeping a little bit. A new clamp solved the issue after trying to figure out what it was for a few months.

Car looks very cool congrats. When I was looking and this was my first MB I found that even "base" S-Class models have a ton of great features and unless you see the ones you missed you will probably never miss them. I just barely got squeezed out from a 2016 S500e that had the night vision and rear seat package, but it didn't have the AMG Sport Package and was not CPO (I know there is a debate on how valuable that really is) so I don't really miss those features. And since I rarely have people in the back and I had to lay off my driver (lol) I really don't miss out on that package.

Mine has heated rear seats and the wood/leather steering wheel, otherwise it looks optioned similarly to yours. I have never wanted any other features in the car, honestly...only thing I wish it had was a sueded headliner.

Its astonishing to me how these guys will try and sell a car then sell extras - then want a huge reference and yet the car is stripped to the minimum and they dont want to do anything to help a customer even when its an enormous amount of money being spent. The used car market is a horrible experience and must be cutthroat. Mind you, I went to look at buying a new Range Rover sport - 9 months / $130k and a new Mercedes 450 - 7 months and about 120k. The "sales guys at each dealership" happened to be coming in to the showroom at exactly the moment I was, I felt like prey. Then of course it turns out both knew next to nothing about the vehicles they sell and other than desperately try and sell whatever is on the lot right then they had no clue financially - there is a "man in the back" who decides everything..so even the new car experience is crappy and to be honest the fact that the depreciation is so high when its driven off the lot makes a used deal so much better financially..that was my thinking anyway..but the whole process of engaging to get a new (used) car is so painful...

Ya I can only imagine what it's like these days. My plan is I'll probably sell my car in a couple years after the warrantee is up and by then I'll be approaching 100K miles and then I'll just drive my E450 Wagon full time, keeping the miles low on that only 30K miles being a 2019 not bad and that car I'll probably just drive over 200K miles so hopefully won't be dealing with the sales experience for quite some time. It can be tough to deal with. I was thinking about looking at a Tesla Plaid thats for sale near me for 100K with 2500 miles as my need for speed seems to be kicking in lately but then I said to myself no thanks not worth it. I've had plenty of fast cars when I was younger so I'll just live with those memories, lol.

Your car is not fairly close to base. I would say it has a "medium" amount of options! Looks great, love those 20" Sport wheels!

Thank you for that. I guess I don’t know what options all exist. So it’s hard for me to judge. This is the first Mercedes I’ve ever owned but I must say I’m already hooked. The more I drive it the more I love it. I love the HUD and I like the massage in the seats. If I could’ve added one think it would have been a heated steering wheel but a small thing. I really appreciate the welcome here. This is a great site to learn. THANKS

I am not 100% sure on the 2018 options / order guide, but I believe you have:

Sport +1 Package (includes the 20” wheels)
Premium Package
Distronic+
Heads-Up Display
Maybe Surround View Camera?

So this weekend I'm sitting down with the owners manual, inside the car and I'm going to have a good read with a glass of "something". But, yes, car has,Distronic+, the HUD, the surround view cam, the auto park, the steering wheel and stay in lane feature, it also clearly has an eco (guessing electric) feature - it shows up in the display options and clearly helps to drive energy efficiently - so im starting to think its a pretty good spec actually. I guess the point is that the depreciation in value the instant a new car drives off the lot is insane. I've never bought a new car - never been able to afford to if I'm honest, so this for me was a huge "mid life crisis" kind of purchase and obviously didnt want to feel like I overpaid but looks like it was a decent deal in the end so pretty happy I think.
