Fragrance bottle - opening?
I am expecting this refill perfume to arrive today (which was recommended by a few members in former posts here). It is designed for cars so hopefully it will not mess up the W222 system.
Does anyone know the best way to open the bottle? I tried but it is too tight and I do not want to damage it. Any tricks?

There is a slight amount of adhesive making it hard to open. It can be twisted off with some effort. Get a good grip and hold as much of the lid as you can while twisting off. After that the lid will be easy to open and close.

I had two of my fingers broken in the past and my grip is not that strong. I'll see if I can use some tools to help with torque instead of grip + rotation force. Do you have any photos of where the split between the lid and glass bottle occurs so I can focus on rotating at the right place? is it clockwise or counter-clock to open the lid? Must be counter-clock I guess.

Counter clockwise. I would not use a tool as the lid is plastic and will crack and break. You can try soaking in warm water maybe. Do you have a strong neighbor?

I ordered from the etsy link on a recent thread to use in the 20 GLS 450 I recently purchased. The only problem I had was that even after cleaning with alcohol, including in the lid, I could still smell a touch of the old scent (Forest Mood). That has since gone away.

Just remember that lids and screws are Lefty Loosey/Righty Tighty

Try the pineapple flavor from Tommy Bahama. Easy to buy from them online.

I bought two 2 oz bottles at $8 each, plus $5 shipping. Wanted a clean, light scent so ordered Natural Citrus and Clean Cotton. Just put the Citrus in Monday and did not drive car yesterday. There is still a hint of the old scent in the system, so it may take a couple more days to really know. As mentioned in that thread, given low price you can keep trying until you find one you really like.

I ordered one on amazon and put it in the car the other day, it's taken a while but I think I was starting to smell it yesterday. I may need to turn the system up to high to get the residue of the old scent through and start getting the new one.
