It’s dedicated to brake fluid so have never cleaned it. Pour it out then store it.

It's up to 20,366 miles and decided it was time for new tires and TMPS sensors. The old tires were original to the car and were starting to feel rough.

I went with the OEM Michelin Primacy MXM4 All Season Run Flats. Staggered sizes front/rear. (I grabbed the tire specs from The Tire Rack). I still like the benefit of run flats especially when going cross county with wide open spaces. But that’s going to become less of an issue soon.

Costco didn’t offer these. And the dealer price was crazy - for tires and sensors. The dealer’s total bill would have been over $3,000. Damn.

So I went with my favorite local tire shop. I ordered the MB sensors because I wanted MB parts and they got the tires. I've never seen Best Before dates on parts - the TPMS sensors. They're new and better than my old ones.

I used MB of Devon because they sell wholesale or close. Much better than full dealer prices.

Too bad Costco didn't have them, could have saved nearly $200 for balance and install. Those have really gone up, they were just about 1k when I looked at them in 2019 when I bought my car CPO and was interested in what a replacement set would cost. I am not a big costco tire fan as I have had less than optimal experience there but would be worthwhile if they had them.

Our last routine cross country trip was about a month ago. We’re now SD full time. The two S Class’ we’ve had have been fantastic for this role. The E450 wagon was pretty nice too but no heated rear seats turned out to be a deal breaker. Still have and plan to keep the current “Just Delivered” S560. It’s a wonderful car. I need to talley up how many times it’s taken us back and forth. The only issue was the trunk not latching when it was very cold, and the fuel door also not latching when cold once. It got us there in crazy cold snowy conditions as well as sweltering summer heat. Confidence.

Quiet comfortable elegance going down the road. And I still love the RENNtech tune. It will really move when needed. Glad I replaced the tires before this trip. Even as run flats they were quiet and comfortable. Don’t be scared of run flats.

Some pictures from MD to SD.

And the drive stats for this trip. Great gas mileage and we were moving.

I use this dash layout/design because it shows the speed limit at the bottom. In the Classic design which I like more the speed limit is blocked by the speedo needle at 80mph.
