CHEAP CARS! Just kidding. Do you have the missing “Y?” If so, it should be easy to glue it back on. If not, I cannot imagine that the letters are available from MB, but you might check. You could simply remove all of them and then polish the area and leave it that way or you could use non-MB letters and affix them to the steering wheel. Other than that, I guess buy a new or used steering wheel or perhaps just the silver part is available pre-lettered, you might check on that. Best of luck to you.
Clicked on the thread expecting an “ZOMG car died in middle of nowhere can’t get parts am stranded with hostile locals giving the car (and you) side eye with only Elroy to choose from as a ‘mekanik’ in a 600 mile radius.”
If MB offers those letters expect them to arrive as one that spells out Maybach on firm backing so you can peel and stick the whole thing and have it all straight and looking as new. This is how MB sells badges that spell out S65, V12 biturbo ect.
Another option is to remove M and A, only listen to Johan Sebastian Bach, and tell passengers you're a big fan and renamed your vehicle to Bach as a tribute.

Thanks for your response. I actually managed to get non-MB letters but it fell off again at the first cleaning despite affixing with a superglue…

Best wishes.
First world problems indeed 🤣
Thanks for your suggestion. Does it mean I need to remove the other letters (MA BACH) first?
the quick way::
Rubber cement on the back side of the letter, then before it dries position on steering wheel. press.
the right way::
Use the letter to create a stencil. place the stencil on the steering wheel. spray rubber cement on the cutout of the stencil and on the back side of the letter. let dry. when dry remove stencil and position letter over dried cement. Press letter onto dried cement.

I’m actually amazed that MB used separately applied letters that could fall off. That is a factory original steering wheel, is it not? On a high end car like a Maybach or even just a regular S Class, you would think the lettering would be cast into the part itself and then, perhaps painted. They just seem to go cheaper every year, while raising their prices.

The right way.... IF MB supplies it.... buy the whole word ‘Maybach’ mounted on the hard backing MB sells such things as.
Remove rest of the letters and clean up well.
Be damned sure where it goes. Remove plastic cover for adhesive and apply new emblem.
Do do it right or it will forever look as though Elroy did it. Don’t be Elroy.
